Long time lurker but 1st time poster, so please excuse any errors.

Have been looking for one these for a while and this is the lowest I have seen.

Keep track of your keys, bags or whatever else you can think of with Tile Mate, the little Bluetooth tracker that easily attaches to just about anything. Engineered for the sport of life, Tile Sport is rugged, waterproof and our most powerful Bluetooth tracker yet.

Looking at the image, it seems like a combo of TILE sport and TILE Style.

However, when I called OfficeWorks to price beat, they simply went by text of CameraHouse website and I was offered Tile Pro 2 pack ($37.95 for 2 pack after price beat).

In my mind that is a better deal as it’s later model compare to what’s on CameraHouse website.

The Officeworks ones do have replaceable batteries.

    • They are battery-powered for wire-free convenience and the CR2032 battery is easy and quick to replace, so it's a better option

    • Do they work really well? I tend to misplace my keys a lot.

they are not that loud. If you lose it at home, you'll eventually find it.

If you lose it in a public place, you're going to have to rely on the radius more than the sound. And that will be hard because it's not GPS. You don't get the exact location, you only know if you're near. But how near, it won't tell you. You have to look everywhere until you find it. If you walk in a direction and it tells you, you are further away than you were before, then you know it's not that direction and it's a hint towards the true location.

I put one in my dad's wallet because he had Alzheimers. He wasn't losing his wallet, but the tracker was there to let me locate him not his wallet. Telling him to wait for me here, he won't always remember the instruction and will wander off. It has helped me find him a few times. But finding a person is a lot easier than finding some keys.

  • Can battery for these be replaced or it's a disposable one after a year?

the ones from Officeworks, yes. Ones on CameraHouse, i don't believe so.

If you're using an apple device, you're better off waiting for this which will likely get announced next month.

    • +3

Been waiting for at least 2 years :(
How confident are we about “next month” ?

      • +1

same, but I'd rather wait for AirTags than buy a Tile.

Samsung already announced their SmartTag so Apple should hopefully be ready.

AirTags will be able to seamlessly connect to most iPhones out there, resulting in the largest community coverage if something gets lost.

Tiles will only be able to do that for those that have the app. No brainer for me.

        • how much will Apple charge for it? I get a feeling it won't be cheap.

    • Predictions on price for AirTags? I bet they'll always work flawlessly but I'm voting between $70-100 each

Betting on $99 for 1 and $150 for 2. Just think about the margins on a device like this.

      • $100 USD, $170 AUD is my guess.

had them, not worth it imho

My experience been the same. Constant connection lost and more often than not, right when you need to active to find your stuff.

      Waste of money.

      • +1

absolutely, not worth the money. Had two i didn't even end up using.

i want a deal on nuts!

I got two tile pro, but didn't sign up for the premium Amazon thingy.
I trief replacing batteries twice, energizer, and the app still say they need replacing batteries. I'm afraid that the battery will go out exactly when I need it :(

    • Honestly, they use should that Ping stick that lasts 1000 years that can be found with GPS and isn't some crappy bluetooth thing like this, they designed for finding hidden graves long after everyone has forgotten about them, and make it for the key items market.
