I'm in the market for a new laptop. There are a million different models to choose from and I'm finding it all a bit overwhelming. I thought I would turn to the OzBargain communtiy to help me narrow down my options. Here's what I'm looking for:
Windows 10
Leaning towards a Ryzen CPU, but happy to consider Intel
16 GB RAM (or 8 GB as long as it's upgradeable)
256 GB SSD (minimum)
Thin and light
14 inch screen (willing to go smaller if the price is right) - don't care for touchscreens
Excellent battery life (needs to last all day)
USB-C charging (preferrable)
Budget $1,000 (but less is always better)
I also want something that can travel around with me. I take care of my stuff, but it needs to be able to survive the incendentals. I've been leaning towards Lenovo, but I'm happy to consider other brands. I also have an .edu email, so I can grab an educator's discount. Thanks in advance!
There's a shortage of AMD processors and all the budget E-series, Yoga / Yoga Slim series are not available to purchase in Ryzen options. These are now on Intel 11th Gen.
For AMD you might have to go for the T, L and X series, these are the only lines that are in stock that have Ryzen 4000 series.
