  • Sashimi Grade Salmon $33/kg

Is this price per kg for the whole fish?

    • The snippet you pasted says "…$33/kg"

    • Last time I ordered from them it was just the sashimi grade fillet skin off and pin boned. Roughly 2.2 kgs there about.

      • Yep thanks. (@ultrawires, I was wondering if the per kg price was for the whole fish or for the fillet only.)

        • Hello Vegita

The price is per Kilogram to a fillet @ $33/kg.
However, we will charge $60.9 a fillet as we can expect some fillets to fall under a 2kg range sometimes but most of the time they are 2kg and over range.

Our Whole Salmon Price is roughly $22/kg whole weight and the fish weigh around 6kg+ if you would prefer that option :)

  • How much is your fresh salmon?
For oven cook and dine, not sashimi one?
    Aldi around $26
    KFL ranging $24-$26
And what yours? If it is good, I will purchase. Thanks

    • Hello

We only sell Sashimi Grade as it has a lot to do about freshness when receiving the grade. Unlike the above mentioned, who source a C- grade fish, our Salmon are around 16hrs out of the water from Tasmania before we fillet it to order, allowing the end consumer to enjoy the salmon as Sashimi for 3 days and cooked for 7 and can be portioned and frozen if need be up to 4-5 months :)

      Regards

I recently came across https://goodfish.org.au/sustainable-seafood-guide/. It has information about which types of seafood are better choices from a sustainability and environmental perspective. I'm not trying to preach about what seafood you should buy, and I'm not commenting on the specials listed by the seller. Just posting it for those who might be interested in using the guide to help them select seafood.

      Hello

Our Salmon and other Seafood Items are sourced from Sustainable and certified Fisheries and fisherman. Particularly our Salmon which is Australias only and the first RSPCA approved Fish farm (HUON) for its practices. Especially all our Fresh products as they are all sourced around Australia and Australia has one of the strictest Fishing and farming laws around the world and rightly so, no one likes seeing a decimated ocean life due to overfishing. We also look into countries that we purchase from and how they treat staff as we understand modern-day slavery is used in many underdeveloped countries in the agricultural industry by large corporations to maximise profit.

      • Thanks for the further info! The rating for farmed Tas salmon on the site is bad but it sounds like there are some good sustainable options - Hopefully they update the rating to reflect this
