Fair enough, but not much help if you didn't stock up back then and you need to do an oil change now ;)

    • eBay SCA's price is $36.37 for plus members.

Good price. I've used Nulon for years on DIY changes and have had no issues; I like supporting the local product. Some mechanics have told me to stick with Mobil/Castrol/Shell due to bigger R&D budget - do you think that actually translates into materially better oil in the same grade/specification?

I've used Nulon for a while too and their products have a great reputation. I like the 6L size as my car takes 5.5L and it leaves me 500ml to top up until the next oil change.

For me, this brand meets the specifications of my Vehicle set by the manufacturer and meets API specs. No worries at all about using it and agree it's good to support local.

  • This or something very similar was 21-26$ at Autobarn very rcenelty (could still be).

    • 5L for $24.99. Ended on 14/02.

      • I saw a more recent one around 22$

      • Yeah it was and it was a ripper deal. Not great for those who change more than 5L at once.

For me (and lots of other vehicles) I change 5.5L and top up ~500ml each year, so to make it worthwhile i need to buy multiple bottles to take advantage and not leave any spare. I'd have to buy 5 bottles to get it exact, which would take 5 years to use at yearly change intervals, and in that time I'd probably be better having the cash for later bottles in my spaceship universe account. I could mix and match 5L and 6L deals, which may work better or buy 1L bottles, but the price for 1L bottles is generally much more expensive

    Costco have a sale on the 5lt @ 19.97 here # https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/605163

Unsure if its a long life variant.

    • This Costco variant is designed/optimised for diesel engines not petrol like the above. Good deal for diesels though.

      • It is, however Diesel engine oil can be used on Petrol cars too. In fact, it's even better because of the cleaning additives.

  • How is this- Valvoline compared to Nulon pls? Any reviews? Price is same almost

    • Good brand, they make a lot of the oils and fluids for Jeep under the mopar brand.

Prefer Nulon for the oils because its locally made, supporting jobs here.

      • Makes sense totally and agree with you - Support locals first.. Bought Nulon. Thanks!
