Thanks for this. Just signed up. I sent the JibJab Christmas Card out this year and it was a hit!
Thanks! I'd been considering signing up for it earlier this month, so this is great timing for me!
Signed up after having done a xmas card the other day.
BUT you still need to pay if you want to download the card for a keepsake!!!!!!A bit misleading especially when it says you have unlimited access if you join,
which I thought entitled you to download the cards you create as well!!!I had not realised that either, and I thought I read the T&C's quite closely. You're still entitled to a refund if you're not happy with needing to pay extra but then, of course, you can't make the member content in the first place…
See 1.1 of http://sendables.jibjab.com/about/terms_of_sale
If you are not satisfied with non-trial annual Membership you can request a cancellation within thirty (30) days from the date your payment has been accepted and processed and you will receive a full refund of the payment.
They may counter-argue you agreed to #2 on the same page:
2. À la Carte Purchases
No membership is necessary to purchase virtual goods, physical goods or material offered on a pay-per-download basis (as long as you are a Registered User). For purchases of a la carte virtual goods, physical goods or pay-per-download material, we will bill you on an order-by-order basis, i.e., we will charge the purchase amount to your specified credit card/debit card when you click submit on the order or download page. For the avoidance of doubt, neither the term “physical goods” nor the term “pay-per-download material” will include online, streaming use of the JibJab Premium Content described in Section 1.4 above (except for special orders and as otherwise noted by JibJab).
I didn't make the connection that this meant downloadable content was a pay-per-download whether you had a membership or not. As a non-member, I'd seen the "pay to download" option and also believed membership included that as a benefit.
Price to save people having to search for it:
"*$1/month membership price is based on $12 per year subscription purchase"Wow! you STILL have to pay $1.99 to download your videos? That's insane. i feel ripped off!
Price in the heading would be good.
