Hey guys,
Recently I followed an online training for the Salesforce Admin Certification by Simplilearn. https://www.simplilearn.com/
After a couple of Online Classes, it's clear to me that the quality of teaching/support/resources are not worth $1500 (price discounted, orginally $2369..).
It's advertised everywhere in the world, but it's entirely based in INDIA.
I'll break down what they are meant to offer:
- Everything in Self-Paced Learning
What they call Self-Paced Learning is a couple of videos recorded a couple of years ago, on a Salesforce environment that is clearly out of date, which means not accurate in order to prepare for a 2020/21 Certification.
- 90 days of flexible access to online classes
The program we are supposed to use to download and watch previous live classes is buggy and never really worked for me on Mac.
- Live, online classroom training by top instructors and practitioners
The first class was presented by someone that was not prepared at all, you could tell he had no experience at all with this
Then, the official teacher spends over 50% of the time reading powerpoint slides without taking the time to actually show us where the feature/function is located. Despite being good on the platform, he has no teaching experience at all.
Now the best part of this whole thing, if you go on their website while using a VPN with an Indian IP Address, the price goes down from $2,361 AUD to 20,999 Indian Rupee => $371 AUD.
I had fun exploring their entire website and switching the prices between Indian Rupees and Australian Dollars, and on ALL COURSES, the price is AT LEAST x3 times higher in AUD. And if you see how much more of a rip off it is for people paying in Euros… It's OUTRAGEOUS!
Is it legal? What can I do to get my money back?
Soon to be REDUCED "LIMITED TIME OFFER WAS $199!!!!!!" on udemy.com…
There's so many of these nowadays as a quick way to make money. They have plenty of time so why not spend 20 hours reading a slightly modified script of someone else's course.
Nothing illegal there, they offered a product at a price and you agreed to purchase. It's not uncommon for different regions to have different pricing, whether subscriptions, Steam games, whatever. You'll have to ask them directly for a refund, good luck.
Also, their address is a serviced office hotdesk rental: https://www.spacely.com.au/level-28-303-collins-street/hot-d…
