If it is same as https://www.swann.com/au/swifi-intcampk2 then no you don't need a base unit. It uploads to the cloud

Those reviews in the link are all recent and horrible
They work on their own, but the app is still a bit garbage.
Website says 3-4 week recharge cycle….seems pretty annoying.
Ditch the ladder. Add a Solar Panel to your Smart Security Camera and forget about having to recharge the camera ever again.
I've been using the 3 cam package. 2 cams outdoors with constant charging from individual swann solar panels, but after 2 years, the batteries fails in the night & cams go off-line. When charging starts again when sun is up, they start working again. It's garbage, don't consider buying!.
Are the batteries replaceable?
@bio: No, batteries are not replaceable.
I wouldn't use these without a solar panel attached.
Conversely it would seem most complaints are because the solar panel isn't good enough for these.
Counter to that, I would say most people haven't positioned their solar panel correctly because I have not had a single issue with either of mine.
reviews don't look positive
Hardware is decent, the new app is really poor
Unless these are a new version (doubt it for this price), they do not have 2 way talk.
Either way talk for that matter. And the google functionality is terrible. They do have decent night vision though.
Hi guys,
What would be a good, cheap option for an outdoor driveway camera without a subscription? I am looking for one that has night vision too, just moved areas and thinking about putting one up.
Thanks!I have the Reolink one and it's ok. The subscription is free, but you should pay if you have more than 1 camera.
The eufy flood cam has good reviews. Cheapest I've seen was $199, rrp is $299. No subscriptions.
Dlink omna!
I use the d-link omna set. Theyre pretty versatile but can only be used with a base system.
I wonder how these stack against it.
Does anyone know if it has ONVIF/P2P support? want to link it to my current dvr.
Do we need any base unit with these?? Or they work on their own
