I worked out Qantas points earning on AMEX per point dollar value is maxed at $0.02 when redeemed
Only when you package it with your home loan :)
I use this for none AMEX transaction and usually get few hundred dollars worth of Coles gift cards per year.
Their international travel insurance did help me out once.
Spending incentive systems work just like they say on the tin: the victims, who appear to be clueless with lives controlled by advertising, lose more money than they would if they weren't participating in the program.
they were break even, when you could use the travel insurance, and they had amex. combank rewards though is nice.
