this is a really good one for photo filters, thanks

I sold my huawei u8800 and just ordered a nexus s last sunday off ebay (guy posted it on monday and gave me a tracking number but nothings been updated since on the auspost website, hopefully just xmas delays :S) so i don't actually have a device yet, but is it possible to 'save' the app to your account while its still free to be downloaded at a later time? I tried pressing install but it asks to send to my old u8800, cheers n merry xmas

  • yes… i did it before.. when i ordered G Tab

let it send to the u8800. Then when ur nexus s arrives click to install there (free) too.

It has now become malware loaded…
Note: It requires write permissions to send sms to fake premium sms services.

Really? I was JUST about to hit install. Thanks for the heads up!

    • Is there an article on this malware loaded?

      • seems like the permissions allow to know when we're on a call and who its to, as well as read other your personal information and phone logs.. don't know if i'd trust a camera app with all those permissions.

      • This app is safe guys, I just scanned it with Lookout Premium on the mobile, it scans for malware, spyware and privacy.

        Results were for Privacy:

It can track location, but so do 50 other apps (including Angry Birds & Cut The Rope) on my mobile
It can read your identity info, but so do 263 other apps (including Angry Birds & Cut The Rope) on my mobile
        It DOESN'T access your messages
        It DOESN'T access your contacts

        Results for Malware and Spyware:

No app found. This app is safe. NO MALWARE!

        It's safe to download.

        • Yes, I can understand that it needs those to share photos on SMS, FB and Twitter.

But why does a camera app need to:
          read sensitive log data?

This allows an application to read from the system's various log files; to discover general information about what you are doing with the device, potentially including personal or private information

This is clearly a security threat.

This is one of the reasons why I run CyanogenMod. I turn off the permissions that I don't think an app should have. if it runs, awesome. If it doesn't I re-evaluate how much I really need it and, usually, just uninstall the damned thing.

In the case of Angry Birds, they force close when I turn off the extra permissions they seem to acquire in the latest updated so I've reverted from backup (thanks to Titanium Backup) and disassociated the apps from the market so that I don't get pestered about their updates.

Fun times. There was an app that allowed one to /fake/ the data a permission permitted the app to see but I've forgotten its name. That'd be nice to get ones hands on and explore. :/

Lookout Premium could be full of malware!

        • Definition of Malware from wikipedia:

The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code.[2]

      Dear Customers,
Some cunstomers ask us why did we need the SMS permission? First, we want to say that we will not use customer’s any privacy. The SMS permission is the “written permission” so we can not get your contacts. In order to send the media message so we need the “written permission”.Please trust us we will never do that. Thank you!

But take that however you like.

    • I don't quite understand why it needs write permission. This is from the developer:

        Some cunstomers ask

Cunstomers sound a bit like a swear word mixed with customers.

Describes most of my customers quite accurately.

  • I personally found that this app didn't take great photos. Good deal for free, so I've still + voted it. But anything indoors had a lot of noise even after altering the ISO settings. Other photo apps aren't doing this for me. Anyone else found this also?

    • Yeah, I installed it. But it seemed to take 'fancy' image that looked not that good. So uninstalled for that reason + the permissions.

  • Got one thanks

  • nice one

  • thanks!

    • hmm i already had the app installed.. but that was when it was a free version.. i'm assuming mine got automatically upgraded to no-ad version?

  • people are still "+"-ing this app?

    • Why not? it's FREEEE :)

  • doesn't work on galaxy nexus but works great on nexus s ics.

  • thank you OP!

  • JAFCA [1].

Does lots of pointless effects that I have absolutely no want for.

Certainly wouldn't pay $4 for it. It was free so I had the chance to confirm that it's JAFCA. Now to uninstall.

      I'm assuming the 'F' isn't for 'free' ;)

Why the F? I thought it was "Just Another Force Closing App"

Does anyone know how to stop jpeg compression in Camera360? there is a compression option which goes 50%-100% but at either end produced image seems to be around 300-400KB instead of the normal cameras 3-4MB photos. I think "Vignette" has better effects than Camera360 but cannot find a full version and the demo version only saves very small files which makes it useless

I just saw it run on an ASUS TF101, & it ignores tablet rotations & shakes.
(Made for Android 2.7(?) phones, I think, with smaller screens.)

    From its name, I'd expect it to make 360 deg views (like Sony compacts can do);
does it do that at all?
