Some ideas if purchasing gift cards through Australia Post -

    • +2

Hope it dosen't track as 0.00 like mine the other day.

      • I got a $50 Amazon gift card from AusPost for this challenge, but received "Your Cashback has been credited into your ShopBack account." — "A$0.00". Is this supposed to happen…?

EDIT: Ah, I see others are discussing this below

    • +4

Another idea is IGA gift cards.

Found you can buy $10 posted. So makes it a 25% off groceries.

      • worked in the past? just checking as its good find.

        • +1

I’ll let you know in a few weeks/months.

But I can’t see where it says it doesn’t work. So I’ll be asking why not if I don’t get it

    • Thanks, hope it works out well because this is the first time I order from auspost online:

      Security check

We take security seriously. Certain purchases, like this one, go through additional routine fraud screening. This process is carried out on products with a high value, as well as things like gift cards, phones and tech.

You don't need to do anything – we've got your order and we’ll send you a tax invoice once the security review is complete. This can take 1-2 business days.

      Hope this doesn't impact cashback.

    • Just a heads up, @dealbot's idea of buying gift card via Australia post might not work.
It just tracked for me as "ShopBack Voucher", I can see shopback saying that these australia post puchases are deemed as voucher hence might decline this.

      • +1

It's been fine in the past.

        • Let's hope so, I don't understand why such purchases are tracked as shopback voucher. It's the first time I purchase via auspost, so didn't know how this would track.
Auspost is not excluded in the terms, it's just the tracking which worries me.

We've received your order details and it is being validated by ShopBack Voucher. You can expect confirmation by 25 Feb 2021 when our partner store ensures that you did not make any cancellation, return or exchange. Otherwise, the cashback will be adjusted or voided.

@johnmelb: Gifts cards clearly listed in Group B purchases at 1.5% so should be all good. Challenge was marked completed but AusPost cashback is still calculating for my cashback details

            • +2

@Paul B: My Australia Post gift card has tracked with ShopBack but at 0% according to the email I have received.

            • @Paul B: I got notification a few minutes ago that auspost was tracked with $0.00 (after clicking through it says calculating).
I also saw the giftcard in group B - which is 1.5%.
@nmcc08 also said it worked in the past. So I'll just wait and see what happens.

              • @johnmelb: Yes I'll wait a bit while 'calculating'.
The other cashback still calculating is Hayu. Not sure if that will be rejected.

                • @Paul B: I got the same message. I will wait and see what will happen next. Say bye to SB forever if it doesn’t work out

    • ebay voucher from auspost tracked at $0.00.

    • Tracked as 0.00, no good.

  • Still waiting for boxing day $10 bonus….

    • +2

Me too, but according to my tracking it should clear around 25/2 (yours should be similar since it's eBay), I would start worrying if it doesn't show up around then.

      • Ah thanks for the heads up

        • +2

Hi Chocobros - you can use the Bonus Cashback Master Thread to keep track of the approval status for these offers

no cashback for Pantry food category

  • It’s OK to use gift card to purchase on eBay?

  • Where do I find my own referral code so I can it for others?

  • +7

    Enjoy chatting with "Debra" afterwards

    • +3

Not many people will waste 15 mins of their life for $2.50…

    • Who is Debra?

      • A superbot without a super…

    • +1

Yes Debra only knows how to say your cash back has been rejected and your appeal has been denied.

  • Will this work if I buy a USB lead for my phone via Amazon? It's so confusing as to what Shopback / Amazon tracking categories are. Is it electronics?

    This for example: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07G6VSP9S/ref=sspa_dk_detail_6…

  • Will this work for stores with 0% cashback? E.g. Amazon 0% categories

    • No

      • “ Spend $10 or more at any store (excluding ShopBack's Gift Card portal)” - why wouldn’t it fall under “any” store?

        • Would like confirmation on this as well, thinking of a computer part on Amazon, but it's currently 0%

          • @Bearboi: Purchases that do not count towards this challenge are those in which do not meet the store's respective terms and conditions (including but not limited to cancellations, returns, exchanges, using unapproved coupons, purchasing excluded products/categories)

        • +1

          Because of this

“Purchases from ShopBack's Gift Card Store (ShopBack Voucher) and stores offering no cashback are excluded from this challenge”

          • @hawkeye93: Thanks for the clarification - I must be blind to have missed that ah

          • @hawkeye93: Update: today ShopBack tracked my $0 of cash back for Amazon, and I got a notification saying I had completed the challenge and my reward is pending. So I guess it still worked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

            • @unknown-entity: Last time my reward was rejected after being completed. I reckon they will check again before crediting your account, and basically it's completed as a transaction occurred.

  • Quite a few comments still bringing up the very real problem of SB "randomly" not tracking bonus/upsize/challenge cashbacks since ~October 2020. But no downvotes (yet)?

    • Yet every single purchase I've ever made with ShopBack has tracked, even AliExpress which CashRewards has had troubles with in the past.

This is just speculation based on my experience and the experience of a number of friends I have referred to both websites but I am a strong believer that everything that should track does track, anything that doesn't is caused by ether something not allowed (eg. a coupon code not listed on the site, using a gift card when that is not allowed etc.) or a user problem (ad block software, not clicking through from the site, clicking through but then using a different browser or doing something which causes the cookies to clear etc.).

      • I have to disagree. I have had problems with ShopBack in the past but not Cashrewards. After previously denying a small $15 claim I took a screen recording when I made my next purchase which had $105 cash back. No coupon code, no gift card, no ad block software and I was in the ShopBack app the whole time and it still failed to track. I actually think there is a problem with their app.

  • how to activate? I click shop now is that enough? I had to buy on deksptop because I can only buy Big W stuff on the desktop.

    • For next time, you need to start the challenge then make a qualifying purchase. The shop now button just takes you back to the first page IIRC you don't actually need to click it.
