Spiderman Remastered on PS5 - $20 hack?

Apparently Sony is allowing owners of the Miles Morales standard edition game to buy Spiderman Remastered for $20 more as a digital Ps5 download?

So does that mean if I borrow my mates version of Miles Morales Std edition, then on popping the game into my system I will get the opportunity to buy Remastered on my ps5 for $20?

    You need to have the Standard edition disc in your console for the remastered edition to play
    Its sold in disc form as a combo pack (2 games on one disc) and this is the same of the digital edition.
    So without the disc the Remastered edition will not load.

    What i mean is by paying the $20 you are upgrading to the Combo version … as in the one sold for PS5 which contains both games (loaded from a single in game menu choice)

    This is true of EVERY game with a paid or free upgrade path to a PS5 edition.

      The ultimate version of miles morales (disc) comes with a remastered digital version, you just need to redeem the code, also you dont need to have the miles morales disc to play the remastered version.

        Not how it works on my console
        If i do not have the MM disc in the game will not load (it has the disc icon next to it)

          I bought the miles morales ultimate version and I sold the disc when I finished it, I redeemed the spider man remastered (code) which comes inside of the case and I'm still able to play it without the miles morales disc.

          They are different games

            In fact i just loaded up the PS5 to check
            When i select Spiderman it asks for the disc… it was downloaded as you stated but its asking for the MM disc to load
            When i put MM in the console it loads

              @jimbobaus: Not mine. I haven't even inserted Miles Morales disc yet, but I redeemed the included code for Remastered, downloaded, and currently playing through it.

    Ok so looks like to play Remastered you must always have a MM disc?

    So that means if a Ps5 digital only console owner goes to JB to buy MM ultimate just for remastered code and sell MM disk, then that's not going to work, both disc and code are useless too him?
