  • Same price as MLN but more stock! Do HN pricematch?

250GB, no bundle for $200-220 anywhere?

    • +1

      HN do pricematch

    • HN do pricematch

    • I dont know how they have more stock, we still have plenty

  • +2

Nice find. Your link includes "offer2".

For interest, I changed it to offer1 … This is an offer on 2 games for the price of one ( i.e 2 for $40). http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/offer1/

    • +1

Same deals are at the bottom of the page linked.

      • +1

        Nice thinking though check!
"offer3" seems to bring up a 'Games offer 3 - Catalogue coming soon' message, whereas "offer4" is just invalid.
Might be worth keeping an eye on..

        • Even better thinking by you MepsiPax! Never thought of going UP the number scale!

      • +1

True. Didn't see it on my tablet!

Looks like a good deal. An xbox plus 2 games for $189 for me!

  • waiting for $250 kineck bundle with $ 50 cashback!

    • The kinect bundle cashback ends tonight. You can only get cashback on a standalone kinect from Xmas Day…

  • These would be all recent lot numbers so no good for other purposes?

    • If you find the answer let me know :)

  • Good find OP

  • $148 at MLN, $1 cheaper!

  • Bonus points for free online delivery - am still waiting for a decent ps3 deal myself.

    • here here

      • that dick smiths deal a few days ago was good

  • Are they losing money on this? (in the sense that's not a profit at this price)

    • +1

I doubt it. Those guys will never sell anything below their cost.

      • retailers will if companies like Microshaft give them incentive and cover the loss. Microsoft doesnt make money on consoles they make it on Live signups.

    • +2

No - these barebones deals for an XBOX360 with a tiny 4gb HD, are just the start of microsofts journey into your wallet.

You will eventually want a kinect sensor (~$100 - $200), maybe another controller (~$50 - $80), perhaps a bigger HD (~$100 - price will vary if you shop on ebay) and then of course all the games you will need to buy as well as the possible purchase of Xbox live.

It's a brilliant marketing tactic… Reminds me of printers and printer cartridges. My cartridges cost more than half of what the printer cost me!

I bought one of the Harvey Norman deals recently for $158. I will slowly expand the unit when other deals arise - much as Microsoft expected I would :-)

      • +2

Kinect Sensor $89 after $50 cash back (Target)
        Second controller $38 Ozgameshop
        250gb Hard drive $50 (Ebay)

Basically the same money as the console again if you shop around. Double that number if you don't :-)

        • Many options/prices available. Either way, microsoft has put its foot in your door.

        • +2

Totally agree, buying locally is a joke. Head online for the best bargains and save 50% and hurt Gerry I say LOL I bought my HDD from online was around $47 delivered for the 250gb

    • It's called a loss leader. They are definitely losing money on this. They may be getting some money from MS in the back door but definitely at point of sale they are losing money. They may break even after they get incentives from MS.

  • +2

Harvey Norman has it for $148 in their 1/2 yearly sale starting Boxing Day.

    • Have you got a link to that price?
Couldn't find it in my Harvey Norman Boxing Day catalogue here (TAS).

      • My local HN had signs up for that price late Xmas eve. WA

        • Bought 1 @ my local HN on Xmas eve @ $168 :( in true ozbargain style, I am thinking of buying another @ $149, and taking it back on the other receipt… Just might wait till 27th and avoid cue…

  • i expect once the cashback ends the deal on the 250g Kinnect bundle will go back to $299

  • I have already got PS3
any extra benefit (usage)to buy a xbox 360?
    I'm tempted with the price

    • +2

Yes. Then u have bigger bragging rights

But foxtel on xbox is one reason. Few games are only designed for xbox. And kinect is way better than move not because it superior technology but because sony have been very poor at investing in the move

  • $99 coming soon.

  • If you bought it from Harvey Norman for $158 and now is cheaper at JB hi do don't Harvey Norman have a 30 day price guarantee where they will refund the difference???

    Anyone know

  • ok then

  • +1

    waht's the batch nuumber?

  • thanks OP. How I wish I can get one. I'll just drool at it tomorrow :D

  • Considering getting one. Can someone link me to a 250GB HDD on ebay or elsewhere. JB has a 120GB HDD for $50. Which is pretty good I reckon, but if I can get it cheaper, why not

  • This is for 148 at HN Moorabin!!

  • I ended up purchasing at Harvey Norman for $148 today, either store is a great bargain though.

  • What stores are open today that would price match this deal. I don't know any that are. JB is closed, HN is closed, dse is close…

  • Any of these can be rgh or all new stocks?
Might as well og out tomorrow can see what they have

    • Almost all of them should be new stock now. Do what I did at hn when they had it for $158 and just go through the stack of them looking at the lot number.

    • What's the difference?

  • Just got back form HN in garden city, got 2 of lot 1133#. Date of 11/08 ^^ 10.83A console. Most of them are 1140+. There is still some 1133 (about 3 left that I went through so be quick)

    • What's the difference?

  • $145 at jb bondi junction

  • Any reason why jb hifi are now listing it as $199?

    • I noticed the website/online cart is listing and carting it at that price.
My local HN still has stock at $148 in several nearby locations.

Will JB likely match that price?

      • +1

I was in JB today, and the price was still $149… Might only be my local one being lazy.

        • Still $149 at Hornsby (5 left after I bought mine). Out of stock of Kinect.

    • Picked one up for $149 at JB and HN has on website and instore at $148.

  • FYI my lot number for my delivered was 1133x

  • HN Store at Watergardens had the 4gb console for $147 last I saw.
