The PORTRA 400 is the world's finest grain high-speed color negative film. At true ISO 400 speed, this film delivers spectacular skin tones plus exceptional color saturation over a wide range of lighting conditions. For years, professional photographers have preferred Kodak PROFESSIONAL PORTRA Films because of their consistently smooth, natural reproduction of the full range of skin tones. In that same tradition, the new PORTRA 400 Film is the ideal choice for portrait and fashion photography, as well as for nature, travel and outdoor photography, where the action is fast or the lighting can't be controlled.

I like my km, but its a bit dated. Maybe you'd like something like the Nikon F6/5/4/3, theyve got basically everything you could ask from a film camera. Just dont buy into the bs pricing some film cameras have undergone and you should be good.
Prob should mention it’s a 5 pack.
The two things that really drew me to film: the inconvenience and the expense.
Same reason why I like my records.
Vinyl has a softer fuller bodied sound, and looking at the photos shared in reviews of this film on amazon, film is a softer fuller bodied image. I’m remembering how much digital really sucks. I remember analogue tv too. Superior.
You dropped this /s
Pulling the wool over your eyes will provide a softer view of the world too.
"… looking at the photos shared in reviews of this film on amazon, film is a softer fuller bodied image…"
You seriously can't see the fault in that argument?
You know you're looking at a DIGITAL SCANNED IMAGE OF 35mm FILM on your pc right?A good digital camera with a full size CMOS sensor will OBLITERATE 35mm.
And analogue tv being superior? To what, 4K?
Either poor quality bait, or a terrible sense of humour.
@UFO: Morse code is far superior to a phone call. I would have sent this by telegram but I know not your address, sir.
@NuttyGoodness: What about smoke signals?
tough crowd
@Vaiels: Meh only 8 so far :)
it is a truly great film, worthy of the hype for sure.
but bulk loading HP5 is better on the hip pocket…
There is a fair bit that is dependent on the how well the setup of of the processing lab is.
5 rolls of Portra 400 for $87.50……… Velvia 50, I understand, but Portra? I'm glad I still have my stash in my fridge.
Still got a few packs in the fridge from the $20 for 5 Amazon pricing error a couple years back! Don't think you'll see a price like that ever again.
I thought it was a pack of 400!
For years, professional photographers have preferred Kodak PROFESSIONAL PORTRA Films
For years, we used to communicate by writing paper letters too…
And those years ended about 15 years ago.
Need a big phone to fit that in!
This is good film and decent price.
My hair is too short for a top knot. Am I allowed to buy these?
Entirely depends - do you drink lattes?
Only pumpkin spiced lattes
If it’s with an almond milk, you are in.
I bought some recently… now, anyone know of a good outlet that can scan my photos?
Back camera of your phone. :)
Still got a few from 1985
A good year.
When in stock, it's $10 cheaper here: https://ikigaicamera.com.au/store/kodak-portra-400-35mm-36ex…

"BACK SOON!" So sad :(
They still make ‘fillum’?
Evidently. What's even more surprising is that there must still be people in business who develop them.
What's most surprising is that Kodak still exists!
Last episode aired March 1978…
Why not. Think of how flooded the market must be in processing lab equipment which was ripped out of every pharmacist and department store in the country.
Pretty sure I used to buy rolls of film from the chemist back in the UK for a couple of pounds each. Maybe $5 at most per roll. This was 20 years ago.
I'm amazed to see this deal listing 5 for sale at $87 as a "bargain".
The cheap rolls of consumer film is still around for cheap https://www.bigw.com.au/product/kodak-ultramax-400-film/p/10…
Portra is professional level film.
Question, how do you all develop film - yourself or outside? I suppose not many place left to get this done or maybe I’m out touch.
I got Nikon F100.In melbourne theres quiet a few, in perth also a lot. I believe all camera houses can do film processing.
Thanks. I'm in Sydney, and will keep an eye out for one.
Digidirect process film as well
Which good film camera is recommended?
