What Are You Doing with Your Virgin Australia Lounge Passes? Can They Be Extended in Light of Covid?

So I've signed up for a few different programs that happened to all be linked to Virgin Australia flights and lounge passes.

I have 4x lounge passes from ANZ travel rewards that technically expired in 2020, but given the whole covid situation has anyone had luck trying to use them beyond expiry or getting new ones as a replacement? My flights were cancelled last year and I still have the credit to try and rebook something.

I've just discovered I also have 2x lounge passes linked to my membership due to expire in April 2021. As they were offered through Amex but put onto my Velocity account, would it be Amex or Velocity I contact to try to get it extended? I do have a flight the same day they expire… would they let someone be a guest if I find someone that wants to use it?

Big regrets not just selling of the ANZ lounge passes as they are printed and can be given out.

  • I binned my 4x physical passes. As annoying as it was, I don't expect them to extend.

    I rang them to ask them for leniency on something else and they refused to help at all.

  • Got a surprise in the post today - extra set of lounge passes. I already received my lounge passes for this membership year.

    Note that I did lodge a major complaint regarding a stuff up about my complimentary flights a few months ago.
