@mohitepankaj1: Cool. I can't answer your questions. I was just curious. Cheers
@mohitepankaj1: Sonic Silver Metallic or Machine Gray Metallic?
If you're going to do the ceramic paint coating, do it soon. The longer you leave it, the more chance they'll need to do paint correction - that means more $$.
I'm sure you can get ceramic tint for $500.
Ceramic coating depends on what they do and the product.
Do you want the rim's and interior coated?
I do wonder why they don't do this from the factory, like it would be a cheap final coat after spraying the clear coat.
But i guess the dealerships have to take you for a ride somehow.
They don't need to do it from the factory. It is just talking rubbish and getting people to pay for it.
Ceramic polish I check is like $50 a litre
That is nothing like a professional product.
In some industries professional = OEM which is the inferior product. You better double check. That is where the margin comes from.
My neighbour used to work in one of the car factories that shut down in the section where they painted the cars and my nephew works in a car dealership, both tell me that the additional paint protection is a waste of money. Just a way for the car dealerships to up-sell you, with a very cheap addition that they can charge quite a bit extra for.
Wax the car semi-regularly and it will keep it looking good.
Agree.
Nothing beats a proper detailing job.
If its a dealer new delivered car (i.e. not a demo or floor stock), you should be able to request that the car have as much of its factory wrapping left intact (incl interior) and for the car to not have any pre-delivery detailing done. This should minimise the chance that the detailers (usually apprentices) screw up and makes the process easier for your detailer when they do the coating as they wont have to remove the wax/protectants that the dealership would've applied.
Also, please don't get it done at the stealership, they'll charge well over a grand, likely 1.5k+. Take it to a reputable 3rd party ceramic detailer, and you'll usually pay half that and get a better result.
You haven't mentioned where you live, but your profile mentions Melbourne, so can't really give you any local recommendations.
For anyone in Sydney, Western Sydney Detailing has been a recommended company by mates. Pricing seems to be $700-850 depending on package and your car's condition. Check their site/ fb page for pics
+1 to not getting it done at a stealership. the results are trash, and the quality of ceramic coating is unverified. guaranteed you would end up going to end up with a redo elsewhere
I have a pearl white 2020 cx5.
I got ceramic window tinting after purchase of the vehicle. I also got a slight tint on windscreen. Bloody awesome.
I also got gtechnic 9yr ceramic coating done soon after purchasing.
I find my car is so easy to clean and maintain. The car always looks shiney and smick.
I'm no guru but both these things on my mazda seem to have made a difference. I maintain my car with Bowdens Own products.
The best place in Melbourne is ‘Car craft auto detailing’(Reservoir) Sandro is an amazing detailer.Highly recommended. One of the best out there.Very professional. He also has a YouTube channel(Car Craft auto detailing) I had my
vehicle applied(not in VIc) with ‘Kamikaze Zipang’(very pricey stuff, but worth it.)coating & the front end with PPF just looks amazing.Good luck.
Is the cx5 nearly brand new?
