Upgrading or Adding SSD on a Dell G7 17

Last year I bought a Dell G7 17 laptop that came with a 512Gb SSD for storage. I can't get over how much quicker the SSD is over my previous laptop with a HDD.

I now want more storage space. It would appear cheaper and easier to just add an external SSD storage card(?) - 2Gb?? - rather than replace the existing 512Gb SSD card and then not worry about transferring everything from the old SSD to a new one.

The Dell has 3 x USB3 slots which isn't enough. Can I expand this?
Can someone please make some recommendations regarding brands/size etc for for both a new external SSD card and expanding available USB slots.

    If you have the 60whr battery then there is space to install a regular 2.5" SSD inside the laptop.

      I have the same model and I installed extra 1TB SSD.

    There's the Samsung T5 2TB for $276.99, still at stock in mwave or price beat mwave at officeworks for an addition 5% off.
    You could get a USB-C hub if the laptop has a USB-C port for additional USB A ports
    I'd probably look into adding or upgrading internal components first though

    If it has another m.2 nvme slot just buy an internal one as another drive to store your games/media etc.
    That's what I did. There's so many m.2 posts these days here between Kingston and Samsung.

    I'm considering getting the Dell G7 17 at the moment.

    If it has the 97whr battery, does it come with a 2.5" SSD provision?

    I know it has 2x M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive slots, I just would like to add one of my existing Samsung Evo 1Tb 2.5" SSD for storage.

    I just bought this bracket and heatsink from Amazon US. Seems expensive but hope that it works and I can now add a 2nd M.2 SSD
