Current Prices for Hyundai i30 Models

Hello fellow OzBargainers,

Just looking for an estimate on what I can expect to bargain for the new i30 sedan models, specifically the Active and Elite models which rrp for ~30k and ~35k respectively.

I understand that in the current climate, demand is higher than supply so the dealers cant be expected to negotiate too much. Wondering if anyone has an idea?

EDIT: So after a few calls and some haggling, seems like its easy to get about 2-3k off each model with any paint. Anything more than that would definitely require more stock in the market it seems.

    I'd be holding off for a good few months if you can. They'll likely do better deals closer to the end of the financial year, and once supply/demand evens out.

    When I bought my i30 new at the end of 2018, I had no trouble achieving a 15% discount off the drive away price with very little haggling. If you are purchasing at the end of the month and you are trading an older car, you'll have more room to negotiate.

    Just don't park it in the garage for a few years given its brother SUV, the Tuscon, has caught on fire randomly …. (and subject to a recall).

    Still the potential to get a decent deal - just need to be willing to call around and put a deposit on over the phone - towards the end of the month is also a better time. Managed to grab the i30 elite (MY21, build oct 2020) in fluid metal for 29800 driveaway last month

    UPDATE: I pulled the trigger and bought a new i30 Elite Sedan in Blue for $30250 (RRP $35k) from Sinclair Hyundai.

    Wait time is estimated to be about two months, but they said that is worst case scenario.

    They are happy to do the same car at the same price (maybe you can get 30k if you're extra charming), ask for Tim.

      Hey man, congrats on your new purchase. Did you get your vehicle yet? I'm thinking about getting the same model but my local Hyundai is saying the waiting time is gonna be around 9 months.

    Not sure how the sedans go but i have driven the new manual i30 hatch for this year spiritedly through some corners and besides the lack of power , the chassis is extremely refined and it handles really well. not much body roll , point and shoot and its there and is quite capable even on stock commuter tyres.
