    No pre order!

But we already know how good or bad this game is because it's just a remaster. It's not like Cyberpunk where you have no idea that the game will be a lemon.

      • I heard they will take the online away … it could always be a bad port cf warcraft 3 remaster

        • I forgot it even had online. Like online in Uncharted, not why I bought the games. Must have had a bit of a following though.

  • It's EA, so there's a good chance this will be on Gamepass with EA pass or whatever they call theirs, yeah?

    • +1

Unlikely unless they do something different with this one. They generally give 10 hour trials though, then after 6-12 months release certain games in their vault. You do get a 10% discount for buying it digitally. EA Play Pro for PC should have it (Pro version is basically just new game releases as well as Vaulted games)

      • It's insane to me that EA have a game subscriptions service that doesn't include new releases, whereas Microsoft's does include their own new releases (+now includes EA play and a huge backlog of old games).

        • There's nothing insane about it. Microsoft's is a loss leader intended to sell consoles. They're a trillion dollar company that can afford it.

There's a reason why no one else is copying them. And also why MS doesn't reveal how much profit they make on it.

If you release a new game and give it for free to anyone paying $10 a month instead of selling it for full price, you leave tons of money on the table.

      • 10 hours for the shep trilogy? Hold my beer!

        • +1

I mean I think that’s why it’s called a trial :p but I’d take ten hours of Miranda cut scenes

    • That would be great, I loved playing these but can't see myself buying them again…..a New Vegas remaster maybe!

  • +11

I love the original trilogy, but even I wouldn't pre-order a game that is basically just a re-skin. Wait for the reviews, purchase the pre-owned versions. Nothing can be gained from pre-ordering the game at this point in time, no new assets are coming in with the release.

    • +1

Yeah good for those who haven't played them, I think that's the point too to cash in on a generation that were too young for the first versions. I'm getting a bit tired of remasters they seem to be more common than decent new releases lately.

      • +2

i'd kill for a kotor and jade empire remaster if we're talking bioware.

    • -2

Reviews are generally out before the item ships, and Amazon offer free returns so no risk. What "assets" are you referring to? The games have been remastered in 4K with "enhanced visuals, textures and models".

      • Original games came with extra cosmetic and weapons when pre-ordered, they're all part of the game now as all DLC is included. Just mentioning that pre-ordering this round doesn't come with any goodies like the previous times.

        • -1

In this case it comes with the cheapest price possible before launch (provided Amazon price match their competitors which they usually do). It's still a few months off so any additional pre-order items may only be announced near launch - eg. JB and EB are both doing a free steel book with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury preorders which was only recently announced despite preorders being open for months.

Pre-ordering BioWare games, aah sounds like a brilliant idea, what could possibly go wrong.

    • -2

Not much when you can always return the game for a refund! lol

    • +1

Well in the case of Mass Effect, not much. These are good games.

      • except they are taking away Miranda's booty shots :)

    • No idea what you're talking about boss, I got minutes of gameplay out of Anthem. Such a great title screen game!

  • Is it true they removed all sexy shots of the female characters?

    • +2

I believe a few cutscenes were re-framed to remove a behind shot or two.

      • +4

What a time to be alive

    • Bring back the booty shot.

  • +2

    Yeah nah.

  • +6

That's way too expensive for a last gen game regardless of how good it is.

This will be $29 tops in 3 months, why would anyone pay full price is beyond me.

    • +1

      Two generations old!

    • But this is THREE (second to) last gen games!

Only comparison I could make would be to Bioshock collection. Any recollection of how long that took to drop in price?

  • +2

Thumbail pic implies its Batman in Space.

    Will buy

  • +3

Developers are getting so lazy and chasing easy money these days. Sick of these "remasters".

They will have to pay me to replay lengthy games like these.

    • And the more of them people buy, the less inclination to have backwards compatibility.

  • +1

All 3 games still look decent and definitely do not need a re-master

    • On PC, but I can't play my 360 games on my PS5 :(

    • all three (non-remastered) are currently on xbox game pass ultimate now that it includes the EA stuff. Got stuck on 1 so I'm playing 2 now.

I'm keen on getting this once its under $20, mostly for the visual upgrades but also the ability to move faster through cutscenes, faster lifts etc.

  • Cool, I've been waiting to see if the rumours of a remaster are true. I wonder if the DLC is just weapons skins and NPCs or whether it's the full add-on missions?

  • "This item will be released on December 31, 2021"

Even though it is releasing in May??

    • placeholder date

  • I'd been meaning to go through the series again as Femshep Renegade, but couldn't bring myself to say jerky things.

I played paragon Male shep throughout the trilogy with 3 different classes. I was going to do renegade Femshep with the other 3 classes to get everything covered. But the things Renegades say on the dialog wheel sound kinda harsh. For some reason in games, I can't bring myself to do or say mean things even though there are no consequences in a game. But in real life, I have no problem saying mean things…
