They've had even greater reductions on some of these in the last couple of months…

Is there anything that is actually cheaper ???

    • +2

It really depends on what you are after. The biggest bargains are those items which are already marked down plus the new additional discounts. But the usual stuff like 40% Cookware (Eg. Scanpan) is pretty much stock standard.

Note that there will be boxing day only offers, and I think there will also be different offers each day of the stocktake sale.
Some social media publicity thing I think…
The 30-40% off clothing is nothing special really its just the regular quit stock except advertised in print. The clearance stock will also towards the end of stocktake be an extra % off.

Some stores still have a tonne of quit stock from last cycle with an extra 50% off. I know my local has heaps with some stuff from bigger stores

They are going to need to do ALOT better than that. 30-40% off clothing will probably be 90% their own rubbish house brands. Walking into myer is like stepping back in time if your looking for mens clothes, all old levis in acid wash and brands no one has ever heard of, unless you go to the city store where they have a better selection.

worth getting there at 5am for ?

    • +3

Depends on how much your time is worth! :) I'd personally rate sleep higher than saving a few pennies, especially AFTER massive celerations the day before! chuckle

I've been several times, and unless there is something particular you want (or just wanna get trampled and/or seen on the news) that you know is gonna go within the first few hours.. like some furniture, tv, etc or something I wouldn't bother.. your not gonna 'miss out' if you go god forbid later in the day/night or even the next day. It's more a novelty for the folks mentioned above.. so I'd say sleep in instead.. (so I can get all the bargains for myself.. muahahahaaa)

Our Boxing Day sales are nothing compared to America's Black Friday sales…but after seeing the YouTube videos from last months' Black Friday maybe this is a good thing!

I've been shopping online all year long and saving heaps…

so.. you're one of those Jerry Harvey hates. :) so am I!

Just some Xmas joke. Merry Christmas!

They used to be, but then they became heavily regulated to avoid the scenes like America (and we) had at the time.

What about the beds? How much off?

    • +1

I wouldn't bother with myers beds in the stocktake sale, from my experiences the best bargains for beds, especially the big brands, are at snooze during their January sale. My advice is to wait for that.

Just make sure you check the actual Brand Retailer first for a better price. Myers had a great pair of DF Supersoft shoes on sale at $69.95 but luckily I thought I would search to see if that brand had a website and they did. Turned out they were selling the same shoes for $49.95 online - so much for Myers big sale I would have been really pissed had I paid for them and then saw it. - I miss the good old days of lining up at 6am at Grace Bros Sydney store and running like hell for something LMAO ahhhhhh memories!

There is NOTHING in that whole catalogue that excites me. Maybe they just want to gouge all those people coming in to use their Christmas gift cards. I agree with other comments that say to check elsewhere for pricing before buying. Use a barcode scanning app on your iPhone or something. Those 15% savings on some electrical items only take the full ticket price into consideration, but no one pays full ricket price these days.

The ACCC requires any advertised discount prices to be based on prices which the product actually sold at.
For example, if they normally sell an item for 100 bucks then the discount must be off this price, even if the rrp was greater.

      Can't agree - the UA55C7000 at $2599 is a good deal.

Particularly if you bought the pay $500 get $550 of value gift cards last weekend…

I don't like some products in a catalogue so I neg. there's a few good prices there.. The Bose sound dock is good!

  • +1

Bose SoundDock Series II good price.. $349 - Save $100

All I want for Xmas is for my iPad to support more files, so I can at least see this promo!! :(

    • +1

Save it as a PDF and open in ibooks?

      • +4

Or buy something that is twice as good and cost half as much as an iPad like an Asus Transformer pad and break free from the crowd of iSheep

        • +1

very good suggestion, Asus Transformer is far more capable than ifad and also cheaper

        • +1

wasn't much choice on the market when i got this.

        • you mean iFlock I think

Went to myer last night and some things from the catalogue are already on sale. Some aren't advertised (no signs) so you have to check the price tags.

Im avoiding boxing day sales, no real bargains but a lot of impulse buys.

    • +1

yup, I got clothes I bought from 05/06 in the back of my wardrobe with the tags still on em ffs
