Anyone care to comment on quality of cans vs bottles? Some yahoo left a one star review on the Liquorland website saying cans are no good.
I am drinking one of these right now. While I will always prefer drinking out of glass, the cans are absolutely fine.
Pour it in a glass, problem solved.
This^
I'm like many and usually go bottles. But a bit of research shows blind taste studies don't show a difference. An argument that metallic components leach into the beverage has been debunked as aluminium cans are lined with an inert polymer. Conversely, it's suggested that bottles allow some degree of light penetration, depending on the opacity of the glass, and can prematurely spoil, or skunk, a beer. Whether glass is porous and allows oxidation, I'm not sure.
But I still dislike drinking straight from a can. There might be some truth that there's a gustatory or olfactory input from direct contact with aluminium, altering your perception of taste. Either way, I pour into glass (love a pilsner glass! These are often on special, https://www.myer.com.au/p/salutbeer-pilsner-set-of-6-6083527…).
Thanks OP! Was in need of a slab for a boys camping/fishing trip on the Murray at the end of the month. Cans even better for transport/disposal. Cheers 🍻
@muwu: Hasn't there also been some research into the idea (fact?) that cans are actually better at preserving and maintaining the right flavour of the beer as it reduces light filteration?
Drinking out of tinnies will grow on you but I do prefer a glass.
Considering just about all beer comes in metal kegs at Pubs etc.
Roughly the same IMO. I generally prefer cans anyway; cool down faster, take up less space in the fridge and recycling, environmentally better for many reasons.
Not sure if it would effect the bottle maturation that Pale goes through but I'm sure not. Probably keeps longer actually as there's no light coming in through the glass.
Having been on the Coopers brewery tour, they prefer cans over glass.
Glass is porous so it will oxidise over time so the flavour will change. Cans aren't porous so the beer will taste the same as when it was bottled in the factory.
Comes up as $110 in Qld, or not in stock.
Still got a $10 odd sign up was looking at using
$110 here in Canberra as well.
I was excited but now says removed from NT stores :'(
Good deal. Got a couple ;)
I grabbed these on the last deal. I normally like coopers pale but I found these needed a shot of mylanta as it was pretty rough on my guts.
Still available in southern GC
These are 49$ at Dan Murphys

I just tried click and collect 2 at my local store, got message: "Removed product Coopers Pale Ale Limited Edition Can 440mL in NSW as it is no longer in stock."
Bugger.
Trying to add more units of Coopers Pale Ale Limited Edition Can 440mL than are in than are available in stock for WA.
Same, delivery worked for 2 cases though.
What's the shelf life of these normally? I'm a slow drinker
Coopers have a "best after" date rather than "best before" so you're all good!
Great deal.
Got the 440ml cans I the last deal and was happy with price considering same price as standard size cans.
This deal is awesome. Free shipping as well. Well done op.
Are these the same width can as normal 375ml cans?
Yes. They're just taller
As in same girth? Then yes :)
(diameter or circumference also the same)
Do these tins work well for Wizard sticks or are they slimmer than a normal can?
Cashrewards only showing 1% on beer
The code is listed on Cashrewards so an extra 8% back.
