40

Looks like Umart are repeating this sale from January - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600342

I managed to get JB Hifi to price match, but might have snagged the last unit in VIC earlier today (sorry!) Big discount from JB's usual $599 pricetag.

The black version are on Amazon US for $479 from here - https://www.amazon.com.au/SteelSeries-Arctis-Wireless-Gaming… but the ETA is March.

Enjoy!

So glad I bought this for $380 pre-covid. These prices are gross at the moment.

      nice buy!

      • Yeah, I'm realising how lucky I got with how high they are selling now.

        • Got mine for around that (maybe slightly cheaper) almost 2 years ago now.

I thought they were expensive then!

          • @stealth: JB Hi FI 25% deal? haha they were retailing at $499 back then, now it's gone up to $599, so yuck. I wanted a second pair so i didn't have to keep moving them room to room between my PS4 and PC haha.

@ONEMariachi: That's shocking, our dollar is even stronger. Retail here is such a joke!

              • @[Deactivated]: It's all about supply and demand unfortunately- the dollar rarely has much to do with it. With people not travelling anymore, most hobby stuff has had huge increases in prices/demand.

  • Aren't the Audeze Penrose better at $399?

It's crazy to think with my 19% off JB GC a PS5 cost me $610 but most these headsets retail over $500 😬😬😬

The Penrose is supposed to have far better Audio drivers/mic(Thought the Arctis is still pretty good from my perosnal experience with them). But I've seen heaps of people unhappy with them online (quick reddit search has a shit tone of people pissed off at them), notably lots of drop out issues. Personally think the ability to hotswap the batteries in these are worth paying the extra for. It's such a good feature that I don't understand why no one has imitated it.

You won't find a single pair of these on the used market, however if you look at other brands you'll find 5 to 10 units used for sale etc

That's always a good judge if people are happy with the headsets.

But everyone likes different headsets, they fit different and everyone hears different so it's always best to probably go and try headsets on for the fit at the very least.

        • I should be clear, when referring to people being unhappy online I was talking about the Penrose- i realised the way I wrote that could have been interpreted either way. I absolutely love my Pro Wireless headset. Been my daily driver for 2 years now (Work from home + gaming).

Got these for $392.90 delivered from previous amazon deal just before Christmas. Usually around $480 delivered on amazon.

  • Any recommendations for a wireless set under 300 at the moment?

I got the Arctis 7 a while ago for ~$200 on Amazon (cost more now though) and love them.. not sure what these pros have above that model but honestly can't be much. Only complaint is the pullout boom mic … I prefer the swing arm style that mutes when up, none of the Arctis seem to do that though.

    • I was considering the Arctis 7's at $250

the differences between the two were the full DAC that the pro's come with and replaceable batteries and ability to charge the battery inside the DAC unit. The DAC for the pro's also has other inputs like optical which I don't believe the 7 has. Bigger drivers on the pro's too I believe too giving a fuller sound (YMMV). Bluetooth also on the pro's and ability to receive input from the PC/PS4 plus bluetooth simultaneously. Youtube has some great reviews on all of them.

    • I'm looking at the Arctis 7 mainly for PS4 but the 7X/7P are out already so makes sense to pay a bit extra for a newer model which in the 7X's case is compatible with all current and previous gen consoles. That said, there's no stock anywhere at the moment so I might just cave and get the 7.

  • Looking to get these and 3xl mousepads from official store, but not sure if they have sale soon, cybermonday 2020 was bad

used A20 wireless is only about $150, cannot see why getting this for 3 times cost.

  • I was considering this but read about drop out issues. Ended up getting a Razer blackshark V2 pro for around 250 with the charging dock. Very happy with it.

    • $239 at JB ATM, charging dock would be sweet tho!
