TV Not Turning On - EKO 65" Frameless QLED 4K Ultra HD Android TV -

I have bought the Eko QLED TV. When you turn it on there is no picture but there is sound.
I've logged a ticket a support ticket with Ayonz and the manual says if this happens it usually has something to do with the "Text" feature being enabled.

Does anyone have any recommended troubleshooting techniques?

TV Model is K65OUSGQ

When your description said 'not turning on', I was thinking, is the power at the wall on?

But if there is no picture but sound, are you sure you're on a proper TV channel and not one of the audio ABC-type channels?

What does the manual say about the 'TEXT' feature? Does it have instructions on how to enable/disable it?

    • a) are you sure you're on a proper TV channel and not one of the audio ABC-type channels?
      - Think about it this way. When your TV is on and your on a radio channel, you can still see the volume increase/decrease display as well as when you change channels. Thus no display. In answer to the question you can change channels and could tell when I hit the morning kids channel compared to a radio channel.

      b) It just says to check the closed captions control as this mode can interfere with TEXT enabled. I have the manual and believe me if it had a troubleshooting method in there I would have tried it before posting here.

      • Maybe unfortunately you got a lemon.

If there's no picture, then there's really no way to see what you're doing on the TV to even trouble shoot it (eg. go to this menu, or that menu to turn feature on/off etc).

Previously, Tele-text used to be on TVs and mine still has it oddly. And yes, it can happen that if someone accidentally presses that button, it goes to the Teletext screen where you'll have sound and a predominately black screen. There will be options though to turn on/off features via the remote.

If your screen is completely black, I'd say it's faulty.

        • A faulty unit will be a better result than me not working out what useless feature gives it a black screen of death. I'll keep you posted. Just waiting to hear back on a tech being sent out.

  • A silly question but is the aerial plugged into the TV and in the correct socket?

    • Only a silly question if you didn't read the first post.

      • you can change channels and could tell when I hit the morning kids channel compared to a radio channel. Thus you need an the antenna cable plugged in for that. It wouldn't work if it was in the incorrect socket.

This is an Android TV so you should be able to see the boot logo / Android menu as well if the display wasn't working.

  • maybe the backlight is already fried

    • I have a support case logged and they said they send a tech out. I'm leaning towards something going on with the TEXT menu blocking it but who knows it could be fried. I've tried everything I can imagine on the remote. Thus hoping someone here has seen or had a similar issue.

It hadn't been turned on in a month and was lucky to be used for an hour a day for the first 30 days of its life.

  • Your TV is toast. Unfortunately you just have to patiently go through the warranty process.

  • Sounds like the display is cooked.
Could try unplugging it for 24 hours and/or factory resetting it but otherwise you might have to do a warranty job.

    • It was unplugged for 12 hours last night. Not sure if 24 hours will make a difference.

How do you do factory reset on this TV without seeing the screen?

I've placed a call already and they informed me they will send a technician out.

      • Yeah 12 hours will be enough
There might be a button on the TV itself or a combination of buttons that can reset the TV.

        • I read through the manual and these TV's have a control stick and that's it. I was hoping someone may know a way. I've done the hold the power buttons on for various time frames. Perhaps I should go to 30 seconds or 1 minute.

  • Cheap crapola, backlight is probably shot :/

    • It was worth it for the 1080p YouTube videos being watched on it. Once you tweaked the settings the picture was good. I'll let you know if I have the same thoughts going through the warranty process. 2 months and going back. One month of usage, one month of sitting there.

  • I've never heard of EKO, where did you buy it from?

  • Just an update. Ayonz has ordered a new mainboard which is being shipped to a technician in my area. No one has looked at the TV yet. Typical shipping times are 5 to 10 days.

    • How long have you had the TV? A replacement may be a better idea than repair.

  • Just had the exact same thing happen to me last night, I've got the 58". Still have sound but no backlight or screen. Sent an enquiry to Ayonz, hopefully it's a quick fix.
@superseijin, did you get it fixed in the end?
