How do you activate this deal? The 12-month plan sign-up process only offers me US$5.95 per month.
Can anyone confirm this? As I got $2.95 without activating anything… It's their price listed on the homepage as well isn't it?

Actually, $5.95 was for 24+ months. Best I can get is $6.95/month.

Yes, I had to follow the 295email link for it to work. The graphic on their home page changes to reflect the $2.95 deal, which then becomes available in the drop-down. Must be cookie-based because the home page is now giving me the deal without your link.

Does anyone have any experiences with bluehost? Starting as a newbie here
You can check on WhirlPool for bluehost. Some have problems some doesn't. It has been going solid for me for 2 years with around 5 accounts =)
why would you need five accounts when they give unlimited space, bandwidth, ect… then you can buy domains for $10 each. I cannot see why you would need 5 accounts.
Is the $2.95 Australian Dollar or USD?
