Can Someone Please Recommend Me a Juicer?

Looking to buy a juicer for the house. Done quite a bit of reading and every model seems to have mixed reviews.

Looking to spend no more than $500, but willing to go above if it's REALLY worth it.

Looked at Kuvings and Breville mainly, as that's all I rralliy see when I google.

Happy for a y suggestions.

Thanks

We have a Breville juice fountain. It has lasted over a decade because juicing was fun for the first 6 months and then we realise how stupid it is and stop ….until the next time apples and celery are cheap.

    Consider a blender instead.

I agree. You get the pulp as well.

Depends on what you are juicing

You have vertical juicers which better for fleshy fruits like apples and pears vs horizontal which does fibrous/leafy stuff like celery better

One thing is cleaning up afterwards is crap. We use a horizontal juicer because clean up afterwards feels a lot faster than a vertical juicer even though fleshy stuff comes out pulpy.

You’ll read go Kuvings because the slower the RPM the more juice can be extracted but when we used Breville, Kuvings, Biochef vertical juicers, juice output seemed similar but taste a bit better with Kuvings/Biochef (not sure is it because of the slower RPM)

Haven’t tested warranty on the products so can’t comment on after sales support

I would get a cheap vertical juicer from Biochef / Optimum ($200-300) and see if it’s something you want to commit to using

Blending fruits is different taste than cold pressing even though you may miss out on fibre. More palatable and easier on the tummy with juicing

Extra notes - it’s probably more nutritious to eat 1 apple than to juice multiple apples to get 1 cup of juice

  • Best one I have had was a very old Brevvile like the following $15 juicer from Kmart:
    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/1l-citrus-juicer/1217801

The reason I like it is because it is easy to use and cleanup was quick and easy as well, BUT it only works for citrus.

I also have a Breville juice fountain type juicer, but it's big and a pain to cleanup and pulps everything which I don't like (personal preference). I used it for one mandarine season and then put it in the cupboard and that's where its been for a number of years.

  • The OZB way:

    1) Cut fruit in half / quarters
    2) Squeeze over glass

    Cheap, effective and reliable ;)

Happy to take your $500 for a one-on-one tutorial on said method :P

  • Oscar Neo is great. Fairly easy to clean up after

  • Hello, I bought my juicer 1 year ago. The model is Kuvings B8000 Domestic Cold Press Juicer (Grey) and I am really satisfied. The thing I most like about it is that it is very easy to clean.
