Best family SIM plan

I currently run 4 sims for family phones and it's becoming a bit of a nightmare jumping from deal to deal to keep the cost down so I am looking for a longer-term solution, something along the lines of a family plan or 4 sims perhaps with a degree of data sharing.

Our requirements are simple as far as data goes, probably around 10Gb a month per sim.

So far the best I have found is the https://mobile.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Plans/Woolworths-Phone… long-expiry plans 12 months at $100 with 100GB or $200 for 150GB I could do 1 at $200 and 3 at $150 for a total cost of $650 p.a. Pitfall is data is provisioned up front and I just know I can't trust kids to manage that.

Next best deal seems to be https://www.aldimobile.com.au/products/80-family-plan Aldi family, $80 per month with $40GB shared for a cost of $960 p.a.

Any other comparable deals people know of? Currently I am tempted to go the Woolworths route with a life lesson when all data is sucked up in the first 2 months! Also a better option currently as 3 of the sim deals expire by April but mine is prepaid till October.

Cheers

  • I'll add to this Catch Connect 355 day sim with 120GB for $120 https://catchconnect.com.au/home/left-image/product/30

Most yearly plans have this issue. All the data upfront, and kids burn through it all and then go oh no out of data with 6 months left!

Kogan does yearly plans that the data is given in monthly chucks, so you pay once a year, but the data is dished out monthly to the kidlets.

Kogan could be a option for the kids if they are data hogs.

Says it has data gifting, so…
You could send all the data to yours, then provision it out as required over the year?

    • Now there's an ideas man!

Could you put them all on Belong $10/month plans, then use various hacks to give yourself a lot more data and dish out extra GB as rewards for extra chores that they aren't normally expected to do. That would be $480/year plus whatever extra you need to spend on half price sims for your extra data (and your partner's).

Benefit also is if the kids run out they can still access the internet, but slowly. So they can still use maps, find phone numbers on google etc and you can still find them on find my iPhone etc. They just don't get to watch youtube videos or game.
