Suggestions on Where to Buy A Leather Lounge - NSW

Hey guys,

Currently in the market for an L shaped leather lounge and looking for suggestions on where to go/purchase from.
Happy to travel to Sydney if there are a couple of good retailers. Have already tried the local Nick Scali & Harvey Norman however their prices just seem a little ridiculous.
Hoping to spend no more then 3k. I see there are a couple of Nick Scali clearance outlets in Sydney which might be a good place to have a look at. Also, Home Furniture Outlet look like they have some decent lounges that wont break the bank.

Can anyone recommend any stores that I should be checking out?

Much appreciated!

  • im looking for an L (or C) shaped leather sofabed

    checked out Plush?

  • Why Leather, it cracks, cool in winter, sweat stays there, cant clean and spots remains there and finally you are paying bomb when the good cloth version last long.

my wife insisted to buy a leather lounge 8 years back and we bought from HN for 2K and it went inside within 6 months complained to HN and they inspected and mentioned that its a normal wear n tear. My wife stop using that lounge and guest too started complaining and finally put it on gum tree and sold for $ 500 in 8 months old lounge and got a decent canvas cover firm lounge since then it still last and we are all happy even after 7 years now.

so just my view as leather lounge looks rich and affluent but has not utility value.

My experience is the opposite, but I suppose not all leather is the same.

I have had my leather couches for 15 years. I apply conditioner every few months and they still look great. Very easy to clean as well if something is spilled on them, just wipe it off.

I guess you get what you pay for

No, it's not. Most lounges sold as leather are actually pleather or worse. Quality leather will last decades (mine must be around 20 and looks new), pleather will last a few years. Of course it's hard to find proper leather these days and there's plenty of places charging top dollar for inferior material.

Well if you're going to not understand the marketing speak such as "genuine leather" or what "pleather" is then you get what you paid for.

To seriously think you can get a full cow leather couch for $2k and that it's real? come on..

      • The couch my parents bought as a child is still in good nick 25 years later. The cushion is definitely saggy as, but the leather is in excellent condition!

    • Did you by real leather or PU leather?

      Utter rubbish.
I have a leather lounge. About 5 or 6 years old & the leather is as soft and visually the same as when purchased. I'd suggest you didn't buy real leather.
Absolutely no flaws - no cracking, a cinch to clean.
I'd go leather again - but make sure you buy REAL leather, not PU, not vinyl, just true cows hide.

Just bought mine from these guys last year. Incredible range at incredible prices. Most are fully customizable too. Was well worth the drive for me.

Harvey Norman isn't bad, usually they have a pretty good margin for negotiation. Have you tried negotiating on the couches?

be closer to 4k prolly, but 8 years and going strong (including two kids)
