Seems like a good deal - was looking for a USB setup for easy upgrade to gaming/discord experience.

White version

I was going to get the neewer USB boom mic setup. The amazon rep for peak catch said there’s a deal coming on feb 5th but I’ve had two friends have their units fail within 12 months.. so going a ‘brand name’ mic

Inb4 spend $250+ for xlr setup.

    spend $250+ for xlr setup

  • i think this is the lowest tier version, no setting on the mic what so ever, but gets the job done and after some tuning, very good sound.

79 is more like a meh price, i think i got mine for 39 way back then from bigw.

    • Correct, this is the snowball ICE, title should be changed soon

The only difference is the non-ice varient has a 3 setting switch:
      Normal
Normal -10dB (apparently good for instruments?)
Podcast / omnidirectional (recording sounds similar no matter which side of the microphone you're on - two can use one mic)

This one has no switch and only normal mode

Get a neewer stand from Amazon. Makes a massive difference having this right in front of your mouth

    • Yeah that's how I am using my non-ICE version, for WFH setup.

    • Any suggestions? I see one on lightning deal for about $25 but it’s not clear if it will support the snowball as there was a review that says it does not, then some that say they do. The advertising pictures imply the adapter is not included…

    • It’s also important to get a pop filter to minimise something called “plosives”. Makes a HUGE difference in audio quality.

      • My stand included one but it's a bit of a hassle. I removed it for gaming but I'd definitely use one for recording videos
