Recommend me a Laptop

My Dad is thinking about getting my sister a Laptop for X-mas. Could you please help?

Would like to spend about $500 or less.

Play movies (maybe blue-ray?)
Music
Internet
Web Browsing
Maybe games but prob nothing too fancy
