tried looking for office deals, as I remember years ago I purchased a CD key online for like $20-$30 for office 2016 I believe and it still works today.
My mother needs office but can't afford 150+ for office.
Is there any sites that I can trust that she can buy a CD key for cheap?

haven't tried Libre, I use Openoffice myself, seems to work well enough for the ocassional user like me.
I think openoffice has been abandoned or has some security issues libreoffice is a fork of open office and is better supported you should check it out.
Not sure you'd be in a position to get it but I've been getting it for free through my university for the past 5 years without issue even though I graduated in 2017

ditch MS office and go for the free offerings, I have recently switched to Libre Office https://www.libreoffice.org/
Have you tried the free suites?
I have been using libre for a couple of years. Not as functional as MS but may do enough
