finished the game after a while. its just a generic shooter. the city is big, and looks pretty, but doesnt have much interaction. you spend 99% of your time at ground level.
Sad to say this is true… My disappointment is immeasurable, and my year is ruined.

I managed to get one, your negative vote is invalid, read the rules, you not being fast enough isnt a reason to cast a negative vote, in that case, you report it as "Out of stock".
How's the PC version, is the police system still glitching?
The police system is glitchy because the thing is barely implemented at all. It spawns in cops 5m away from you if you look away.
I'm hoping they rework it, or that a modpack comes through to at least disable it so that overpowered cops don't fly in from nowhere and destroy you.
I bought and installed this game since day 1 but I haven't even started it as I don't want to be disappointed… maybe I should wait a few more months…
It's honestly a really fun game. At the very least - for the story.
The most issues I have had, have been a few visual glitches or otherwise - but nothing that didn't impede further play or fix itself after reloading a save.
I'm playing at 1080p upscaled to 1440p on ultra low settings, and I'm still having fun with it. There's no reason not to give it a playthrough, then pick it up again a little later for a run using a different starting story/character, and enjoy a more refined experience outside of the storyline. the storyline missions itself are solid, and were given the most amount of polish
Whole system is designed to give you no benefits for killing cops or civilians and to put your rampage down quick, so you play the game as you are supposed to. So much for be anything in night city.
Interesting aspect being that there are shot outs on every corner and cops need your help in dealing with it, yet when you shoot at them they bring in the whole army and end you in 5 sec, makes those little missions pointless
also just buy the PlayAsia $30 digital copy in the other post, it is definitely worth it
my personal experience on the pc, and ive had it from day 1: basically zero issues. no game breaking bugs, the tiniest graphical errors and the game has never crashed to the desktop
only the people with issues go online and complain, there are a large number of players like myself who have had basically no issues.
Im ok with crashes but how severe is that policy thing affecting the immersive of the game?
whats this police/policy issue you speak of?
if its the overpowered police, once again, not really an issue. the only time the police came after me, is when i accidently ran someone over, you instantly get a star. yes they spawn (rather than naturally chase you) however you just keep driving for 20 seconds and you lose them.
i did once try and have a shoot out with the police just to see what happens, and yes, it is literally impossible to survive more than 10 seconds, they warp in about 10 ppl who just shoot and grenade the shit out of you.
however, as i mentioned, its not really an issue as you never encounter the police when just doing missions etc
the driving physics are pure garbage tho: its like your driving an inflatable dingy that just bounces around everywhere. i installed a car handling mod that made it 10 times better.
also, the mini map is insanely zoomed in. you literally miss every single turn off, because you cant see when to turn until you literally fly past it. so i also installed a mod that makes the map zoomed out, so you actually know in advance, of a turn thats coming up
@SuperMid: when you're sufficiently high level you can 1-shot the cops. It is actually possible to completely empty an area of police (by killing them all) and they will just stop spawning in to a given area. I always stop and kill trauma team when I see them because you will get 3 or 4 stars instantly and can farm epic loot for sale/crafting and some cool trauma team clothing pieces.
However, that doesn't mean it isn't frustrating to accidentally nudge a civilian while trying to turn or park your boat car at lower levels, and then get immediately greased by a police shock grenade (and you haven't saved in the last 10 minutes). Infuriating.

Physically moving away from the area is the easiest thing to lose police. You can do it on foot also.
The only problem is that it forces you to be a goodie two shoes in Night city because the police are broken. You can't drive on footpaths all the way to your destination with 0 repercussions.
@fratzhaus: yeh the goodie two shoes thing is wierd, like if you shoot someone in an alley with no witnesses, you still get a police star
at least in gta you can do some rampaging before the police come after you, and even then, you can survive a shoot out
The bugs and glitches are literally the least of my concern. That can be fixed. What concerns me is how garbage the immersion and interaction is for a next generation open world game.
RDR2 makes Cyberpunk feel like a game from 2005.
