Is This Site Real Selling Trek Bikes? Prices Look Too Good to Be True

I clicked on this ad on Facebook that linked me to a site selling Trek bikes. They are discounted 86%. Looks too good to be true. How do I know if this is real or a scam? They are a US website.

Here is the link:

Cheers.

Gee what sign could you look for? Hmmm something that seems to be too good to be true, is 99.9999999999% always true!

86% of a trek bike for no valid reason from some random website, yes to good to be true.

  • As a Trek Bike Owner, this website is 🤣🤣

This site will certainly take you for a ride.

A $3,000 bike for $59. What could possibly go wrong??

  • As already pointed out fake as F.

If you're ever not sure just dig a little and there are normally some things that stick out like:

Interest bit in Terms and Conditions - TREK BIKES makes no representation that the materials, information, functions and/or services provided on this website are appropriate or available for use in jurisdictions other than Malaysia.

Also their address doesn't exist - 42 Craigavon 13 hillcrest lurgan

Edit: And I also found this: https://de-reviews.com/all-trebike/

  • It should be obvious that it’s fake.

Even better than the 86% off $60 piece, their original price is ludicrous. On the page linked there are 4 bikes in the $40” range when their actual price for the 4 different bikes probably ranges from $60-$4k in Aus.

  • Analysis of the website "Mall.bikespeople.shop"

    1% Very bad trust score

The domain name is very recent (less than 6 months)

The creation of the domain name is rather recent

    Short life expectancy domain.

In other words run ride away!

    • OP can't ride away, since they haven't bought the bike yet

  • 86% off they would be selling like hot cakes locally, don't have to ship it off to some guy half way across the world and deal with export paperwork and logistics. Definitely a scam.

  • USA phone number and address is a UK terrace house.
    Doesn't look promising

  • I was in my actual local bikeshop 3 weeks ago and they definitely sell Trek bikes because there were 20 or more of them hanging on the wall or lying around the showroom. A friend of mine came in and asked to buy a new Emonda (Sz XL), he was told that it would take up to a year for delivery due to the lack of stock at the moment, he walked away. As if anyone is discounting now given that they are literally turning customers away.

  • Only trek discount is for BUPA customers

    • Not sure that they allow to sell online either.

  • There are plenty of these bike sale scam sites.

Rule number one: if the discount is too big it’s a scam. Designed to prey on stupid people.

Rule number two: no one sells real brand name stuff cheaper than Aldi specials.
