Saw it on eBay at $177, so this seems a good deal. I bought one from Kmart Airport West. They still have quite a few left.

  What's the normal price at kmart? If it's a generic no-brand one like many of the cheap things at kmart, then it was probably only $69 or something normally.

  For those interested, instead of using 4 AAs, try using two 14500 li-ions and two dummy/short batteries. The $15 buggy thing I got from kmart now goes like the clappers.

  Note: for the first few minutes it seems to cut out and needs to be power cycled. Presumably some sort of protection circuit kicking in. After the batteries flatten off a little, it goes great and I've always gotten bored before they batteries ran out.

  I'm waiting for a new boost converter to try and perfect the right voltage. The one I had could only do 2A and wouldn't work properly. The RC car I had can pull at least 3A.
