    Thread count refers to the number of threads (strands of fabric) per square inch of fabric.

      I don't want to sound picky but I don't believe there is a standard measurement for thread count. Each manufacturer is at liberty to set their own measurement size.

  "Absolute luxury" and "cotton and polyester blend" never belong in the same sentence. A good-quality 400 thread count 100% cotton will be so much better than these, recommend to all to pass on any bedding containing polyester.
