Lockers at Southern Cross Station

  I have and didn't encounter an incident. It was smooth. Left the luggage there for a full day. However, storing a high value item like a laptop would be fairly risky.

  I've left some stuff in them while I was a at a festival couple years back. All went well for me but it was only a backpack with change of clothes so not alot of risk like leaving a laptop

  Done it and was super easy. There are always people in the carpark where the lockers are, so they'd be pretty ambitious thieves if they tried breaking in (unless they were hacking it).

  Obviously, its always safer to keep it on you.

  Is there a reason why you can't carry it in a backpack with you? Too heavy?

    I need to visit an embassy and work after that. Embassy does not allows backpacks.

  Put it in the locker in a bag that doesn't scream laptop.

  There are some lockers at the bus terminal, and some just inside the station from the bus terminal. Both have plenty of staff around and are probably covered by CCTV. I can't imagine someone coming in with a crowbar to pop open a locker. Much easier targets around town to hit.
