So I was wondering if it was possible to use a JB Hi-Fi physical gift card in store without having the card in hand. Would the staff accept just the card number and the pin or a photo of it?

Ok that post answers my question. Im looking to buy the physical gifts cards but wasnt sure how to go about it as they are in another state and I don't really have time to wait for them to post it.
I personally wouldn't do it….
If they're scratching the pin code and sending you a pic of it, it is possible to for them to use it and then send you a "used" GC with a $0 credit on it….You're asking to be scammed…..
Yeah I thought about that possibility, like all transactions on the classified posts you can be scammed on multiple stage of the process, currently looking for them locally. The other post says they can be redemeed online just with the card #, is that true?
@F1ProjectOne: I got no idea about redeeming them online. I'd recommend purchasing them from a legit website or in person at a store.
@F1ProjectOne: Yes pretty sure you can redeem them online like that.
What are the chances you are scamming someone? Read the terms and conditions of the card bro, it's clearly outlined
I am not scamming anyone, I am considering buying physical gift cards from someone interstate, and wasn't sure whether the staff instore would accept just the card # and the pin or a picture of it.

under the counter, or family? Surely nobody would trust a random to buy 'gift cards' from ???
Don't do it. The chances of being scammed are not worth the small amount you will save
Buy online and use click & collect.
You can generate a barcode using Apps like Stocard and then scan it in the store.
You can also just use the code and pin to buy egiftcard online, which then you can use in store.
google pay has the option to ad giftcards to your phone and then you can use the barcode on there.
Is this a scam?
