Managed to get a pre-order for a PS5 at JB Hi-Fi last week so was having a look to see whether there were any games on sale. Was pleasantly surprised to find a few at a pretty good discount. Amazon has price matched some, but last I saw didn't have Immortals available for purchase.

  Have been this price for a while (standard price crash for Ubisoft games) and all slightly cheaper on Amazon.

    I was thinking about getting Immortals Phoenix Rising until you said it was Ubisoft. Now I want to find out what terrible ways they've tried to monetise the game before I go buying it

      I have the game it is so much fun. The Monetizations are for outfits / skins. Everything can be unlocked through game

      It's actually not too bad and would recommend picking it up. It's quite a fun pick-up and put-down game with plenty of puzzles in an open world environment that you can do in any order.

      There's expansion packs coming which are advertised but the base game is quite comprehensive and fully playable and game unlockable. Would recommend it.

      Reviewer Skill up said Immortals Phoenix Rising is the most un-Ubisoft game they've released in ages, and said that it was a good thing.
      By contrast, he trashed AC Valhalla.

        I'll give it a try then. I like most of the games they make but they often monetise parts of the game that should just be included or unlockable without paying money

        Agreed. I was a huge fan of BotW and I quite like this game too (I'm about 30 hours in at this stage). There's definitely similarities. Weapons not imploding into smithereens after 20 uses is a plus.

  Just to counteract these above, I really did not like immortals, the HUD was horrendous and made it feel like a mobile/free to play game to me. I did a price match at EB but returned it after like 3 days.

  Solid prices for JB though especially bundled with Gift Card discounts. I’ve been loving Dirt 5.

  Will probably get cheaper. Picked this & watchdogs (PS5 version) for $48 each from Amazon last month (+ additional 10% cashback from cashrewards due to a promo).
