Need Recommendations for Home Movers - Melb Eastern Suburbs

Hi all,

Im in the process of moving homes (2-5 min drive to the new place)
Located in Eastern suburbs in Vermont 3133.
3 Bedroom place, full of regular furniture and white goods

Ive heard some horror stories from friends about movers and want to avoid that.
Looking for some recommendations for good movers that charge a good rate and provide a good service.

Thanks everyone

  • I've just been through a move recently (Southbank) and have had some horrid experiences with some removalists in the past. Moving between apartment complexes was my concern as timings need to align and I can't afford to have a removalist not show up when i've booked the lifts and informed the body corporates.

I ended up taking advice from friends and on Reddit and went with Little Red trucks. They have great reviews, a little more expensive ($10 an hour more compared to a similar company), but they were fantastic! Only needed a van, but they gave me a truck for the same price, the guys were lovely, COVID safe and very careful to the common areas and in my apartments. Gotta recommend them :)

    • Thanks for the recommendation, i'll hit them up for a quote

  • Alexander Removals
I have used them multiple times
    Quick, Efficient and well priced.

Alex and his team are amazing!

  • We recently moved from Southbank as well and our first removalist - On Time Movers - didn't bother to show up till 2 PM for a 9AM booking. By then we had lost our lift booking; so could not move.

I'll check with my wife on who we ended up moving with. They came an hour late and the move out of the apartment took 5 hours (thankfully we were able to extend our lift booking). They did take good care of our things and they did not damage a single piece of item.

I would recommend booking for early morning (as soon as possible); cause then they can't say they were delayed at a previous job.

    • Good to know, im def avoiding that crew

  • +2

Hire a truck yourself…. get a few mates to help… your only going 2 mins down the road.

    • Wouldnt really trust myself to drive a truck, rather leave it to the pros

  • Any other recommendations?

  • I've used this company before https://threemenandatruck.net/moving-to-australia-from-the-u… when I moved to Oz from the US and once since I've been here and I haven't had any issues with them. Affordable and easy to deal with. You're not wrong about the horror stories out there - I've heard my fair share too, though luckily I haven't experienced any personally. I found that company on the recommendation of a local friend who'd used them before and I would definitely use them if I had to move again. Good company to deal with.
