Duracell AA and AAA 28 Packs $15 @ Bunnings Warehouse

233

Saw these in Bunnings today in a big crate at checkout. Both AA and AAA - lots of stock. Stock appears to be Australian as it has a 1800 AU number on the back for contact.

Produced Date is September 2020, Expiry Date September 2030.

I know Eneloop are all the rage - but if you need Akaline for some reason these seem like a pretty sharp price.

I've heard stories about leaking Duracell batteries.

    • +5

Yep I gave up on Duracell because of leaking and just not living up their expiry dates printed on the label.

I use Varta now and found them to be okay. But more importantly no leaks.

      • +1

I used varta before. It also leaks.

        • not as often as duracell, within code

@petry: It's worst … I had complained but response is not impressive.

            Nothing against OP

            • @ScoMosas: duracell doesn't deal with claims or complaints in my experience …. besides the premium priced shit batteries you get zero response from complaints or claims….

        • I guess I got lucky.

I have experienced a few leaky duracells wrecking remote controls.
I don't use them any more.

    • +1

Yep will never use them now leak all over the place

    • +1

      Alkaleaks…

    • +1

Yup, experienced firsthand. We no longer use Duracell.

    • +1

+1 more here too. I will never buy duraleak AA or AAAs again after having many instances.

  • How are these compared with "Varta AAA Alkaline Batteries - 24 Pack" $9.92?

    • +1

From my experience with this brand, they don't last long at all. I suppose it depends what you are using them in though.

    • +2

I bought Varta for remote controls etc and they seem fine for that.

    • How do they compare with the ALDI super alkaline AAA 14-pack for $4.99?

      • +3

        Aldi ones are crap.

  • +3

Leakier than the Titanic…… I'm sick of cleaning up after them.

    • +1

Here here, I won’t use them anymore

      • yank shit

    • +1

Yeah indeed. I won't touch Duracell batteries with a 10 foot pole. I value my devices. Especially my Xbox One controllers. No Duracell is going in one of those.

  • +1

Agree with comments re Duracell and leakages… I would only use them in high-drain devices where the batteries are changed regularly, definitely not in remotes etc.

Some months back I picked up very long dated Energizer AA 38 pack for under $20 at Bunnings. Man, that was a good deal.

  • Get the Varta ones at Bunnings. Best alkaline battery.

Meh… normal price for Vartas. Have had no trouble with them.

    Great price but … …

I have bought Duracells in bulk for many years however the last couple of years have seen quite a few leakages.

I no longer buy Duracell as I think their quality control is rubbish.

  • Just got energizer from Amazon

    • Good choice. I haven't yet had any leak problems with Energizer or Varta batteries.

  • Yep - I'll never buy another Duracell.
I think the "Bunny" has been leaking!

    • I think the bunny stole the match

  • There is little differences in capacity between brands of alkaline batteries - at least not to justify the differences in prices.

  • I noticed in about 9 months that my Energizer max plus in my remote leaked but could have started leaking earlier.

These batteries are not cheap even when buying in bulk value packs ($0.50 to $1.00 depending on the quantity)

Panasonic Eneloop Rechargeable batteries are definitely cost effective and would buy a few when they are 50% off at Amazon.

  • Everyone complaining about leaking so which non rechargables do i buy then ?
