I am trying to go on a telstra plan, but it seems they put a bar on my account and they refuse to lift it. i haven’t had an account with them for around 20 years and currently run off boost prepaid. they said it’s my problem nothing they can do. i think the ombudsmen might need a call

Not sure how much time you spend here but you'll find that a simple question will turn a lot of people into armchair investigators who will jump into all sorts of nonsensical conclusions and accusations. Nothing you say will convince them otherwise. In fact they'll drag you down even more. And the favorite tool of sad and miserable people is the neg button. Think of t this way, typically the more negs you get means the more people disagree with you. That's a good thing. I aim to be in a 5% group, far away from the rifraf lol.
Hey mate, while you're at it, do a credit report on yourself. Check if there are any defaults, or telstra accounts opened in your name. Could explain why you haven't been able to open. Credit Simple or Credit Savvy, I'd recommend checking a few, as reporting agencies can have conflicting reports.

I just found out that Optus' coverage is now 98.5% vs Telstra at 99%.
Seems like good enough reason for me to port out and join Optus.Until you found out they were lying………

I would get hold of your local federal member. It worked for me with Telstra
