Any Experience on Grand Group Australia (Solar Panel Company)

Hi fellow OzBargainers,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with or information on the the above company "Grand Group Australia".

They said they would "be in the area" and provide a quick quote and give a rebate according to the scheme.

Does anyone knows the specifics of the rebate deal and any advice on the whole solar panel process as this is my first look into it.

Thanks

My advice with solar is that anyone who approaches you is likely to rip you off. Reputable solar businesses don't need to use pushy sales tactics to get your business.

This site has some good advice: https://www.solarquotes.com.au/learn-about-solar-energy.html

Company registered since Nov 2018, to a residential address.

      Got fined for unsolicited calls

      • Well I did get an unsolicited call so guess it's not a surprise there.

        • You first need to be registered with Do Not Call register and if you receive any unsolicited calls after registering, you can report the business to ACMA.

      • Where did you get company registration of Nov 2018? Both ASIC and ABR has it as 2013.

        • Look at business names registration on your link.

          • @avoidfullprice: I see. Just to clarify Business names and Company names (Pty Ltd) are different. The business name Clean Engergy(sic) Solar Group was registered in 2018 to the company GRAND GROUP AUSTRALIA PTY LIMITED but the company has been active since 2013. OP is dealing with Grand Group Australia (the company).

            • @trex: Ahhh, OP is dealing directly to the Company with just a Australian Business Number, but not the Business itself. Gotcha

              • @avoidfullprice: A company is a business and the business OP is dealing with is Grand Group Australia. The company also owns the business name of Clean Engergy Solar Group but OP is not dealing with Clean Engergy Solar Group. A company can own and operate many businesses. Read more about the differences here.

As an example, you are 40 years old, but NeutralName (operated by you) registered in 2017 is 4 years old. When people deal with you, they are dealing with a 40 year old person.

                • @trex: So does that make this company credible for OP?

                  • @avoidfullprice: In the solar industry, there’s a practice called Phoenixing. A dodgy solar business would liquidate after a few years to avoid warranty obligations on solar panels sold to its customers. I must say having a business active since 2013 sounds more reassuring. Doesn’t necessarily mean it is credible though.
