    Good luck

    So it's a lottery?

    • Good call! No everyone will get the free $10 that signs up. Have updated the wording.

        • +11

@jv not sure I follow you, a free $10 would be considered a bargain to most people?

With that $10 you can buy any crypto on our platform and withdraw it at no cost to you.
You can use that to offset any trading fees if you do decide that you want to use the platform to make other trades.

By 'everyone' I mean 'everyone' that signs up via this deal through Ozbargain. Otherwise normal sign-ups don't receive any free $10.

Hope that helps clear any misunderstanding, if not please let me know more than happy to help!

  • +3

"Complete verification process" - not for $10 thanks

    • +10

As a regulated and registered Australian crypto currency exchange it is our legal requirement to perform KYC on all customers that sign-up. You will find this with any other Australian crypto exchange that accepts AUD deposits or withdrawals.

      • +2

Ok. Fairly true, and I was on-board.

cue biometric step - film yourself tilting head around etc

        "@#$& it." :/

        • Zwolf I understand your hesitation if you have not used this type of service before. Due to issues with ID theft this is really the only secure method to do ID verification online now days. You will see this is going to be common practice for most online business in the future.

        • +3

          Kyc is the norm nowadays.

  • +2

Its free 10$ for all new sign ups.

  • -1

    Yeah, not for $10.
    Try harder

    • +11

You don't work for Offensive Security by chance? Their motto is 'Try Harder!'

    • Are you buying Crypto elsewhere or sitting on the sidelines completely now because this $10 2 step task required too much of your time?

    • guy said "Good call! No everyone will get the free $10 that signs up. Have updated the wording."

Not for the chance to get $10 or $9.95 after fees for using crypto.

      • Hi @McOzbargainer - we updated the original message to make this clearer. Everyone who signs up and verifies will receive the $10 AU credit. The only requirements are that you verify and send us a message on our live chat.

  • +6

Just went through the process, had no issues, and received my $10 instantly

  • +1

What are their fees like? eg; fee per trade? Deposit/withdrawal?

    • +2

0.5% trade fees for buy and sell, free and instant AUD deposits and withdrawals via OSKO/PayID
Crypto withdrawal fees are specific to each coin and shown on the withdrawal screen.

      • In one of your comments above, you said:

With that $10 you can buy any crypto on our platform and withdraw it at no cost to you.

Now you're saying there are crypto withdrawal fees. Pick one…

        • AUD withdrawals are free.
Crypto withdrawals are dependent on the specific coin and vary based on network load etc.

Crypto withdrawal fees are charged in that specific coin e.g XRP withdrawal is 0.25 XRP which is approx 10 cents.. And yes its no cost to you because it would come out of the the $10 amount.

          • +2

            @DigitalSurge:

            AUD withdrawals are free.

AUD isn't crypto though, it's a fiat currency. You might just want to re-read what you wrote, because you implied that crypto could be purchased with the free $10 and withdrawn no cost.

            • @bonezAU: I am sorry if it caused any misunderstanding and hope that it is now clear.

            • @bonezAU: I can see how the misunderstanding came about

With that $10 you can buy any crypto on our platform and withdraw it at no cost to you.

It is the "that $10", not the "any crypto".

              • +1

@thedriver: I realise that, but the way it was written was a little misleading IMO.

  • -5

    No BSV, no deal.

  • +1

    well that was easy

  • +2

They want too much for $10. ID and some biometric thing,

    • As a regulated and registered Australian crypto currency exchange it is our legal requirement to perform KYC on all customers that sign-up. You will find this with any other Australian crypto exchange that accepts AUD deposits or withdrawals.

Great post, got my credit straight away - thanks guys 👌🏻

    • Thanks for signing up!

  • +1

    Binance fee is 0.1%…

    • Is there a fee for fiat withdrawals?

      • +1

No fee for AUD deposit/withdrawl with Binance

  • +1

Excellent post. Got mine all setup

  • +1

easy and quick set up , thanks.

  • Don't need it….already made millions on this deal a couple of years ago. Just waiting for the right time to cash out.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/354586

    • Wow, not even listed on coingecko and blockfolio says it's got a 33k mcap. Zombie coin now.

Looks like it did a 4x back in the day, I hope you made $15 profit and got out 🙂

    • I just realised that I registered for this deal as well. how to cash out?

  • +1

    Got my $10

  • +3

fyi, you have to deposit at least $10 to withdraw, because the minimum withdrawal is $20

    • Or wait for market value on whatever token you buy to increase.

    • Dammit what a waste of time

      • it's really quick, especially if you have payid

  • +1

Had troubles with verifying but staff are responsive and sorted it out. Good experience overall.

  • +1

I understand KYC (having been through the process with other exchanges) but I had difficulty taking my license photo, it kept coming back saying not good enough. My camera isn't the problem, my Huawei P30 Pro takes crystal clear shots. I found the solution for me is I'm sitting under a 4000K Warm White LED. When I tried it under a 8000K Cool White LED it worked first go.

Support tell me new licenses can also cause trouble and mine is reasonably new. Hope this helps someone.

$10 took 5 seconds to be added to my account once I spoke to their friendly support. A great first impression from this exchange.

  • +1

Great timing, as I can no longer ignore getting involved! Signed up, had my account approved and deposited some funds - waiting for a response from the support team for the $10 though (How long should it usually take?)

EDIT: Updated, $10 added to my account

  • +2

got on chat to request my $10 and was expecting to hear back another day. got a message 4 minutes later saying my $10 has been credited. wow…quick service!

  • +2

Nice work Dan, Josh. Great service and easy to use platform

  • +2

great service, got my 10$ and invested immediately. Will withdraw 10X next year

  • +1

Just send them a message after verification and you get the $10.

  • +1

    thanks Op, got me tener

  • +1

That verification app took me 10 attempts in 10 different well lit positions on my budget Android phone.

Disclaimer: I was paid $10 and asked to upvote this deal or leave a comment.

    • Thanks for your feedback and for your persistence! We realise that the technology still is not perfect and it can have some troubles detecting some ID types under certain circumstances. We are working with Rapid ID closely and expect that the process will improve with time. For anyone else that gets stuck @Click_it provided some good tips in relation to lighting. We also do have a manual backup verification process that we can run you through just send us a message on our live chat.

  • I'm always a bit wary of how securely these exchanges store your KYC info. e.g. Blockfi used KYC info not just for verification, but also gave it to the marketing department, who leaked it.

i.e. handing over your KYC info to some exchange can lead to identity theft.

Buggered if I'd risk having my identity stolen for $10.

    • Hi There,

I understand your concern and it is somewhat ironic that the reason we choose to use Rapid ID service over some other 'easier' services is exactly for the reason you said. Other providers will only ask for a copy of your ID and maybe a selfie, which can lead to impersonation. With those services, all it takes is someone to have a copy of the leaked data and they can create an account in your name.

The service we use does a quick video and compares it against a photo of your ID to ensure that they both match, this gives us confidence that we are dealing with right person. This new type of service is significantly more difficult for scammers to bypass.

If other companies adopted this technology than the rampant issue of ID theft wouldn't be a problem. The Australian government announced they would be rolling out similar technology and we are already seeing it be used by Neo banks and other online fin-tech services.

Let me acknowledge upfront that its not your fault - the whole AML/KYC issue is the fault of the government - they imposed the rule on service providers, without providing a secure mechanism for verifying someone's identity that does not involve the end-user risking their entire financial life by uploading raw identity documents.

My intention was to point out to people what they are risking to make an easy $10, by uploading KYC documents.

Let me illustrate with this example:

Bob wants to claim his $10, so he uploads a copy of his licence, and does the selfie dance so Digital Surge can comply with AML/KYC requirements.
Five years pass. Digital Surge hires an employee that gains access to their storage of KYC documents, and sells them on the dark web for a tidy profit.

Bob arrives home one afternoon to find the locks on his house changed. Someone in Ukraine has bought his KYC data and used it with data from other breaches to transfer ownership of his house to them and sold it to someone in China who bought it sight unseen.

The "liveness" tech is great, but requires 100% of providers worldwide to use it. It is the KYC storage that is the risk vector here. Sure you need the same thing with banks, but in general they're much better at securely storing sensitive data than crypto bro's.

        • Land deeds could be NFT in five years and on a distributed ledger. A transfer of ownership would require the owner to sign with their wallet. This would make ID fraud impossible.

        • Yeah I agree with you here completely if the government provided a service businesses could directly tie into, instead of outsourcing it to third parties, we may not be in this situation with ID theft being so rampant.

It is quite likely that your data is already leaked, there have been so many high profile cases of large institutions being breached. Equifax was hacked and it is because they had a default password in use on one of their public facing servers. This is one of the largest credit reporting agency in the world which many banks utilise and they store a lot of personal information about millions of people.

Our team comes from a background of cyber security and our team is Offsec certified (hence our previous jokes about try harder). I would say the stakes are higher for us as we store crypto, which is more attractive to attackers than personal data. My viewpoint is that my data is already leaked. The government has made it impossible for most businesses to operate with requiring ID checks, even getting a rental application they want your ID.

This is why I would insist on using services that require bio-metrics / liveness as currently it is the only system that is somewhat 'fool-proof'. At-least the government is starting to realise that this is the way to go. Hopefully in the not to distance future there will be a system that consumers can trust and that scammers / fraudsters can't easily defeat. So far that is looking like the bio-metric & liveness is going to be the way.

  • Thanks Team!

  • Worked a charm, got the $10 within minutes of verifying identity and messaging via the live chat 🙂

  • After initially having problems with phone verification, their tech support resolved the issue and I got $10 credited to my account as well.

  • Is this promo still running? If so, until when?

    • +1

Our team has extended the offer for 1 more month.

      • Can we still use referral so my friend got something too, or your link is pretty much the referral?

  • I’m not able to get this offer. Account creation is stuck at make a deposit step. And the chat button doesn’t work. And so is the contact us page.

    • +2

You can shoot us a PM here on Ozbargain and we will be able to get it credited for you. It sounds like you may have a plugin that is preventing you from using our live chat (which is what the contact us page directs you as well)

      • Hey, thanks that was it! Tried with another browser and it worked.
