Came across this looking for a new website, black edition comes with a slightly bigger battery and a pen with a spot for it in the device.
Pretty sure it's close to the highest end 2-in-1 Dell offers before the XPS line.
$3,198.99 on Dell website so this may be a mistake.
The >$3k on Dell's website seems to be because the product is out of stock so they haven't bothered updating the price. You can get a silver one from the Dell website for $1,998.99
The silver is actually a different product in some areas! The black is the premium version. Go figure.
In any case I actually recommend the silver OVER the black! The black has a much smaller air vent at the back, and the sliver one already needs more airflow…
Huh, weird. Thanks for the info. Looking at the specs on dell’s website I couldn’t see any difference between the two (right down to the weight) except that you had the option to upgrade windows from Home to Premium on the black one.
53 vs 60 when battery I think and the pen chamber at the top of the keyboard. Think there might be a webcam difference too.
Also looks like the screens are different - silver FHD, black UHD.
@Fuzzdude: It's a shame they don't offer the FHD on the bigger battery, UHD at 13" is so unnecessary
The last year black edition 8GB version was around 1.2K so roughly double the price for double the ram and new cpu … not really a deal.

Terrible specs for a 2020 machine.
At this price point you have to be getting at least an 8 core CPU.
If Dell had dropped a 4700U or some variant of the 4800U in it would be a lot nicer.

Expected delivery is early March though :O. Hopefully it doesn't take long, but can wait

$2199 is overpriced for a quadcore in 2021. AMD just launched their 5000 series mobile CPUs at CES 21 with up to 8 cores. Considering that Lenovo, Asus and HP chose to talk mainly about AMD+Nvidia premium laptops at their CES 21 launches, indicates something about how they perceive Intel 11th gen Tigerlake.
