I get so irritated at some of the deals being offered.
Tonight, there is a spreets offer that promises a "90 Minute Healthy Cooking Class PLUS a Wine and Dine Experience With a True Master Chef" http://spreets.com.au/deal/Perth/other/14649/90-minute-healt…
Normally when you pay for an experience that includes "wine" in the title, you would expect some sort of wine to be provided, however crappy that wine might be. This offer extolls the follwing "Just bring along your favourite bottle of white or red to enjoy while you eat" WTF!!!! I could sell people a wine experience of my front porch for $49 for a two-hour session, provided they BYO!!! Ridiculous.
Then we have Scoopon who has sold vouchers for Mobilia homewares with the follwoing inducement - "Delivery included - get your fabulous new designer pieces delivered to your door at no charge!" Apparently No Charge means they will take it out of your voucher. How offensive, and contrary to the deal being offered. No charge means you won't pay, not that they will reduce the $100 voucher by a whopping $15. It would be pretty easy to disclose this, or be silent on it, rather than saying "NO CHARGE". I bought this deal, got a condescending phone call from Mobilia in response to my request that they process my order manually as they were still charging $15, even though there is NO CHARGE allowed. I have asked scoopon for a credit for deal, but in fact, should just complain to the new GB authority and the WA office of fair trading. It is pretty outrageous and both scoopon and Mobilia have wasted my time.
No response from scoopon as of yet. http://www.scoopon.com.au/deals/6903/just-39-for-100-worth-o…
Then there is a funny yet highly offensive Cudo offer for IPL hair removal from LA Sin cosmetics. http://cudo.com.au/perth/rid-body-hair-the-permanent-way-wit…
This offer tells that I should "Say sayonara to the pesky hairs sprouting from your unwanted regions". I take objection to the premise that I have "unwanted regions". I might have unwanted hairs, but all of my "regions" are "wanted".
+1!
