Don't want to spend too much.
More as a warning light and something that can help me in the slightest if I go for a night ride around the local streets.
Looking for a front and a rear. Saw a Repco one at Big W for about $30.
Thanks

Yeah got one nearby. Any recommendation out of those ones?
Honestly I'm a little struck by how many there are and the differential in prices!

these ones look nice and cheap
Thanks will have a look:)
These eBay ones turn up at ALDI sometimes. I can recommend. I've used them every weekday in all weather for 18 months with no probs.

Yeah nice and cheap as well. Thanks for the suggestion
They're a bit pricey but the NiteRider Lumina series I quite like. Very solid construction (IP64 rated), slim profile, solid mount, no issues charging them whatsoever (they automatically fast charge when connected to suitable USB ports/AC adapters; 3 hours from flat to fully charged with fast charging), battery life spans on low/medium brightness are plenty, bright as hell (especially the 1000/1200 lumen models) and a very clean, uniform beam with no artifacts and excellent flood (throw range is pretty good on higher brightness settings).
I've been running the Lumina 1000 (front) and Sabre 80 (rear) for a few years now. People get out of the way at night a good 30-50 metres before I get near them without me ever having to ring the bell.
Ok thanks, will check it out. Cheers
I've got some Moon Comets front and rear for day riding that I've been happy with. For night I use a variety of Ay Up front, rear and helmet but they're pretty old by now so maybe there's better and cheaper options.
Cheap double led ones off eBay do the job just fine.
Can’t believe no one has suggested the heart shaped bike lights that are occasionally posted as deals here.
Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone have any Bike Computers they'd recommend under $50. Just need an odometer and speed reading, no GPS. Would this be a decent unit? (https://www.99bikes.com.au/azur-12z-wireless-bike-computer)
It will do what you want.
Thoughts on reliability of the unit? I'm happy if it'll last at least 6 months haha
Never used it, but i had some Azur lights. they were alright. If you only want 6 months out of it. The price is right.
Otherwise something like this would be alright

@Fergy1987: Thanks mate, I think I might go for the Cateye
Moon make some pretty good lights. Give them a look.
There are lights for you to see at night, and lights for you to be seen.
The first type would be more powerful and cost more, where the second type less useful (as example, as a headlight) as the intention is to allow motorists to see you.
The first type will achieve the second type's intention, the second type will be better than nothing to assist with the 'slightest' of assistance you mentioned.
good point
I would always recommend a high intensity light for daytime….anything else is a waste of time.
Couple of points from my experiences.
A blinking front light is a big sign on the front that indicates ‘slow bicycle’ and drivers more likely to pull out in front of you. Also makes pedestrians and oncoming cyclists annoyed.
Super bright front lights need to be dipped/lowered for oncoming cyclists and pedestrians.
Most lights are effectively ‘high beam’ and do not have a reflector design suited for oncoming traffic.
Before you say ‘I don’t care about oncoming traffic as long as I can see’ - think about what happens if oncoming traffic is dazzled by your bright lights, it often doesn’t end well.
There is a significant difference between light to be seen with and lights to see with.
Honestly looking at more of a safety light rather then bright lights or good lumens.
Just a safety precaution in a way. I dont do too much night riding and when I do its in quiet residential streets.
I use knog lights picked them up for 50bux front & rear batteries last ages and recharges via USB.
Pushys has some lights for sale as part of their January Sale.

They had a Knog front light for $24.95, down from around $60. I was almost going to buy it but didn't want to pay shipping and couldn't think of anything else to buy to make up the amount to get free shipping. It's not there any more today, must be sold out. They still have a couple of good ones left, like the Lezyne and Knog rear lights and the Cateye front lights.
Got a Decathlon nearby? Plenty models for super cheap.
