Peugeot 81022SET Clermont 24cm Salt and Pepper Grinder Set (2), Chocolate Brown $69.98 Delivered @ iBuys eBay

220

Was looking up prices on "best" salt and pepper mills.

Peugeot make some of the best salt and pepper mills, most often at the top of the "top 10" lists.

Normal-ish pricing on the 13cm set is about this price. $68~ for one of these (24cm) is considered a "good price"

This seller is essentially selling the set for the price of one.

Some raters mention having these for 15-30 years (and still using them). May be a lifetime purchase.

Is there a mileage limit with the included 5 year warranty? Or is it unlimited km?

    • +7

Odometers arent included in this model.

      • +1

Is that an option for this model? Do I need to upgrade to the next trim level to get that?

        • +3

Yes i think you need to get the Peugeot 82007

Are these guys the same as the car manufacturers?

    • +1

      Are these guys the same

      Luis and Andre?

  • +2

Are these any better than the Citroen ones?

    • +2

I think Citroen is the premium brand in the line up? May be we should compare them with Renault instead?

    • +2

      Citroen grinders have air suspension

  • +3

Note that these don't have the adjustable dial at the bottom that changes the grind. I'm fairly sure all the ones that rate highly have that option that they call "U'Select".

    • +2

Yes, this is the "older" classic style, the grind adjuster is at the top as is with most of the older style salt and pepper mills. the uSelect has it at the bottom.

most often at the top of the "top 10" lists.

Who the heck is making lists of Top 10 pepper grinders?

    • I guess people who are serious about kitchen tools haha

    • Pepper your angus

To ensure you're not buying any run of the mill mills, of course.

  • How do I know if dis is genuine "Peugeot"?

    • Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once

    • yeah i'd be wary of getting a fake

    • I've never really heard of this seller before, but i ordered from their actual site. They are based in Victoria, but still not sure.
They seem to sell all sorts of stuff, kind of like a catch or kogan.

I have the battery model (about 20 years old). I do not expect to ever buy a new set unless a thief takes this set from the dining room table. I cannot count the number of people who have stated this type of mill is overboard, that is until they start using them.

The history of Peugeot started when the company itself was founded 200 years back in 1810 as a coffee mill company named ‘Peugeot Frères’ by Jean-Pierre II and Jean-Frederic.

    Great product OP.

    • They made an electric version 20+ years ago?

Man they must have been really ahead of their time.

      What's the mileage between charges?

      • +1

Considering that was 2000, doesn't seem too amazing? Esp if powered by button batteries.

    • yep, peugeot and marlux are the 2 french pepper mills that i find the best. i have a couple of american mills but i don’t use them as they don’t seem to grind as much pepper per turn.

    Bonjourrrrrrrrr, you cheese-eating surrender monkeys!

  • -1

Does it come with parking sensors?

    • No I think for that you need to get the Peugeot 83007

  • Peugeot actually started as a company building coffee/salt/pepper grinders…and bikes…so they have a long history in these things!

    • +1

No wonder the cars smell like spices

  • Not sure if these are the "best" , but they are certainly the Rolls Royce

  • Id love some info on decent salt nd pepper grinders. These are too tall . I'm thinking about electric but if anyone has decent ones they love, that last a while, please let me know.

  • they both look the same …is there anyway to id which is salt and which is pepper ?

    • +1

Yes, they have P and S written on the brass knob on the top.

      • cheers , i’m going to purchase if that is the case, can’t be bothered always filling up
        small versions of these.

    • you can tell by the bottom as well. The white one is salt, black one is pepper.

      The grinders are actually different
This is a different product, but hopefully you can tell by looking at the pic

      • salt grinder mechanism need to be stainless steel or ceramic to stop corrosion, pepper mechanism is often just hardened steel.

  • +1

Only need the pepper grinder as I sprinkle like salt bae

    • +3

      Username checks out

  • +1

Cheers Op, bought one.. lets hope it is genuine

    • I got mine today. Seems legit?
it performs just like any good grinder, im not sure how else it could be different.

The product tags look legit and import stickers.
