Hey guys
My nephew's joycon have been rendered useless by the infamous joycon drift
Took it apart to clean to no avail
Even bought replacement parts on Amazon which ended up being faulty themselves, and not wanting to risk another failure I decided to buy these as a present for him
From a 5 second Google search online, it appears these joysticks are more traditional and anecdotally do not suffer from drift so fingers crossed

Thanks to Ryugen, ctan7 and sep1 - note these do not have rumble, motion, NFC and are bulkier (might require new travel case)

Doesn't fit many cases. Definitely fits this one but it's had a price hike so best waiting for it to drop back to around $30 - https://www.amazon.com.au/ButterFox-Nintendo-Switch-Controll…

Somewhat ergonomic. It's curved but not as pronounced as a PS5 controller. Also has buttons on the back which could be good or bad depending on what games you play and what you're used to.

I greatly prefer this to joycons, which are much too small for me to use comfortably.

Joycons are garbage. They are the most uncomfortable controllers I've ever held. "D-pad" sucks, analog drift, no ergonomics, stick and buttons are aligned vertically which is not natural placement, joycons are tiny and cramped.

I hope a class action suit forces Nintendo to replace every joycon and switch lite with a redesigned version.

  • are the sticks the same size as joycon sticks? Do they have the same drift design flaw?

according to this review, they are more similar in size to the Switch Pro controller i.e. bigger
They're traditional joysticks so should not have drift design flaw, but I don't have mine yet to confirm

      • will a silicone thumbstick cover for the Pro controller's sticks fit this?

        • i'm not sure, friend
          It looks like it would?
