Aside from GST and maybe some local Microsoft salaries, the majority of the money, regardless of where you buy it, is flowing to Microsoft in the USA/the developers of the games.

Except this is not the same thing and you've been condescending for no good reason. Game Pass is a subscription service that requires regular payments, and this game will be removed at some point. You can purchase the physical media and play it for as long as the hardware functions, with no additional subscription costs.
I like Game Pass, I like this game, but this is now temporarily part of a service and previously it was a product. Still is available as a product of course.
@FabMan: The answer to "why this is a deal" is perfectly valid though, considering this discussion has been done to death to the point that the forum post, and subsequent mod ruling, is nearing a year old. It's actually ridiculous that it's even being discussed, time and time again, and tbh is really annoying as the deal poster to read the same shit.
You don't like it, either scroll past or unsub from the subs tag. If, to mirror the actions of a few in here, I wrote on every post that I wasn't bothered by, the site would get even more cluttered even quicker.
The forum post is there to discuss the ruling. The ruling found posts like these are perfectly valid. This post front-page because enough people considered it to be worthwhile. If you feel the need to discuss subscription services additions and the deal posts, use the forum post which is linked in the deal description.

The answer was poor as it is two separate things, one option requires a subscription to utilize over time, the other is a one time purchase. A month's worth of taxi rides would probably be significantly cheaper than purchasing a car for a single month worth of journeys, but I don't think most of us purchase cars for a single journey. The car analogy isn't good either, but my point is they are not the same thing, it did not previously cost X and now it costs Y, as the subscription to Game Pass is the same price it always was.
I think it would be better if a single post was created with all the months changes to the sub, highlighting the better games being involved. The link in the post does link to all the 'Coming Soon' games, which is nice I think.

Kinda, yeah. There are couple of gameplay mechanic differences here and there (stage transitions and interactive bits and pieces, and the supers work differently), but it plays a lot more like MK than anything else. If you're not into MK-style, you probably won't be into this, but it's a full-featured game, not like it's a cut-down version or anything.
PES21 was also released on Game Pass if anyone is interested in a football game other than Fifa.

See you can play this for 6 months before this is taken down, then you will need to buy it. Gamepass is good for single player story games that you play once and never play again. If you end up liking this you would need to buy it anyway.
That's the whole business strategy of GamePass which most people don't get. It's designed to pull you in and get you to taster some games then buy them (with the 10% off or whatever deal) and/or get the vanilla game free and then pay for DLC and more content (e.g. Forza Horizon or Flight Sim). They're hedging their bets on add-on purchases balancing out revenue. Nothing wrong with that of course, but most people can't look past the 'free games' bit.
Still gamepass is awesome because of 1st party exclusives day one that are available forever plus the singleplayer story games that you don't play again. I just think that this type of game fighting is better brought on sale.
I do like gamepass, particularly for the games that are on it for the full 12 months, rather than a fleeting short period (ie: gives me time to attempt to finish them). Currently playing Cricket 19 (love how Ashes 17 was on the service for a year, then not long after it was dropped, cricket 19 replaced it!).
Injustice 2 was my goty in 2017, worked out having a 9 hour per day game time average that was maintained for MONTHS….basically the only game I played that year and still gave it a good go in 2018 as well. Even had to get a new power supply for my original Xbox console as it blew up.
Recently purchased the pc version via a Steam sale (back in October) and have almost got every character to level 30.

Got up early, stayed up late, It was an addiction. My weekends helped maintain the average as well, I basically only played Injustice 2 and AFL Evolution for close to 2 years. The 9 hour average eventually dropped to 6 hours, 4, then under 2. Its not healthy but I can easily sit in one spot without going bonkers (hence why lockdown 1.0 and 2.0 in Victoria was easy peasy to me)
