Good deal but with caveat for me - I own at least 50 different SD variation memory cards in different brands (thanks to being a gadget whore) but have only ever had one fail on me - Silicon Power. Could have been a freak but unfortunately that put me off as it was after an overseas holiday/wedding attendance. On the plus side it was promptly replaced under the lifetime warranty policy but it's still sitting in my drawer in its original wrapper.

I would have bought some as a gift for a relative for Christmas, were they of a more reputable brand. Maybe it's just me, but I really wouldn't want to lose 16GB of data (ie, photos) as a result of a faulty card. They can replace the card, sure, but not its contents. Good deal, but I'm afraid it's just not for me.

    just remember these words.

"You pay for what you get"

    • +14

Or. You get what you pay for?

    • +4

Yes, this is true for just about everything… just pay triple or quadruple the price for the same components wrapped in different packaging at one of those hoity toity bricks and mortar establishments.

No but seriously, posts like that are blasphemy on OzBargain. You shall repent!

class 4 is too slow for hd recording, you'll need at least class 6 and preferably class 10 for digital camera with hd video capture.

    • Yep definately.. Class 4 cards are useless even for 720p HD.. and my canon does Full HD so even more useless.. Good deal if you got s hack of camera for photos. 32 gig class 10' go for arnd 40$ all day every day now days

      • They'd be alright for my Ereader though right? I don't think it would require high speed for that its just book storage anyone know?

        • +1

I wouldn't think you'd need a high speed card for an ereader. FWIW, i tried a 2GB SanDisk Extreme 3 card in my Sony HD handycam for a test run and it recorded to it and played back fine with no slow down…

      • I'm pretty sure class 4 is minimum for 720p HD, so it will work, but it depends on if your camcorder has a good buffer or not. Works fine in my Sony without any pixelation.

The warranty is pretty much useless if you want to keep your privacy, god forbid that they look at your photos. I just snap and bin my broken cards.

    • HN at broadway has 8gb class 10 for $16

      • What brand are the cards at HN broadway?

        • Verbatim I just bought it. There are some class 4 sandisk

  • FWIW, I bought two Sandisk SDHC 4gb cards from OW on Monday night for $10 each.

    • Oh is that a normal bargain, or a price match?

  • HN chadstone had 8gb for $9

  • Went to Doncaster, they didn't have any :\

  • This deal is supposed to be good? I seen same or better tons of places. Meh….
