What streaming device does OzBargain recommend?
I've got a Vodafone TV which I'm really happy with, was looking to get a second one but looks like they're now discontinued. I would go the Google TV + Netflix deal but ideally I want something that has a FTA TV input. Help is appreciated!
Streaming Device with Free to Air TV
Comments
I'm not sure. Maybe I'm just a Luddite, but I do like being able to quickly flip through all the channels using just 1 remote
Most devices support HDMI CEC, so you should be able to use your tv remote to control them. I know I can do this on all my TVs, and with both Amazon fire stick and nexus player.
Yes, but not all FTA channels have live stream apps.
An example: The cricket is not being streaming by Ch7 on any of their apps.
I think the Voda TV is the best device and great value
I am sure you can find one - new or used
There are a couple on ebay

Foxtel now box
Telstra TV
I have an older model, dual tuner HDHomerun box attached to my home network.
It lets me stream free to air tv to any device in the house.
Throw in a Plex subscription and you can stream to your phone when you're away from home too.
Similar question to OP. The antenna in our house is terrible; but I have very good internet. Do these devices stream all FTA channels so I dont need an antenna any more. Also, are they a once off payment or a subscription is required?
Download an iptv player and use matthuisman's AU iptv m3u list to play all the channels. Tivimate is the best iptv player imo.
please explain

Thank you kindly
Used Vodafone TV if you can find one.
Alternatively, a Foxtel Now Box, however you'll be required to login with a Foxtel Now account. Not difficult though, sign up for a trial and you'll just lose access to Foxtel channels once the trial expires.
Don't all the FTA apps have a live stream option?
