Need some help with PS4 controller issue

My PS4 controller is working fine in the Home Screen menu. But as soon as I start some games, the left analog stick just stopped responding, the buttons on the right hand side are working fine.

Games with this problem: FF7 remake and P5R.
Other games are fine.

I tried all sorts of solutions eg: restart, disconnect controller, deleting profile, restore to default etc, and none of the buttons are stuck.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

    try it on another ps4 or a computer.

      I did try on pc, that’s why I know none of the buttons are stuck, they all work fine.

        When you tried it on PC, did you try something like gamepad tester

        You might be able to see if something is tripping it? I wonder if the deadzone is different for specific games?

          That’s what I checked, no buttons is stuck or faulty.

    Maybe it's a game issue? Maybe try reinstalling the games.

    Have you tried playing the game with the controller + cable connected to the PS4?

      I tried cable, no luck. I will try reinstalling the games when I get home.

    I don't have a PS4, but can you hardwire the controller through usb and see if it's still misbehaving.

    Can you borrow a controller to work out where the fault it coming from?
